since when is 'widely believed' equal historical fact
I don't think they are doing it to get their idol in, they are making the point that all idols must be out
I don't make it a habit of repeating myself but to help you along. "Widely believed" was my way of saying no other evidence at that time is available and no certainty as to the authors true intention can be had, however, throughout the space of time, the fact of the matter is that it has become accepted, i.e. "widely believed" that the name baphomet was a corruption of the french medieval word for Mohammed which was Mahomet. Now, when we take this historical fact, i.e. the "widely believed" assumption throughout history that Baphomet =Mahomet, what do you have? A group of children trying to place a statue of Satan with the name Baphomet. Now if Baphomet is widely believed to be synonymous with Mahomet, and the statue is depicting Satan, as these children claim to be Satanists, than they are equating Mahomet with Baphomet which would equate Satan with Mohammed. Which, again, historically was what was "widely believed", i.e. Mahomet/Baphomet/Mohammed was a heretic and the devil's henchman.
This would mean that you are supporting the right of people to equate Mohammed and correspondingly Muslims with Satan and Satanists.
Which last I checked, was disparaging a religious group, one who doesn't take too kindly to that sort of thing.
So, I don't see where they are making a point to remove idols, but they are attempting to disparage a religion. Now, their intent I'm guessing was to get Christians all riled up but when you look at the historical facts of the matter they really are disparaging Islam.
So, as I said, they care about the Constitution so much that they wipe their bums with historical facts.
They're rabble-rousers, nothing more nothing less. Their point is to be as insulting and idiotic as possible. Nothing more nothing less.
