I beg to differ with you, in that we are most assuredly where we are today because of apathy and failure to do as Senator Church admonished all those years ago. It has been a progression that got us where we're at now, not something that was flipped on like a switch the day Obama sat down at his desk in the Oval Office. Of our 16 or so intelligence agencies, the NSA has the largest budget and the least oversight. Jump on the band wagon and join the voices that DEMAND reform of the NSA rather than stand in the corner with the other pussies that call Ed Snowden a traitor.
I think you have a point. But I also think you make the wrong one. Oversight ie control is absolutely necessary. The more potential the instruments are the more important it is to keep a handle on those that wield them. But it is not a solution to forbid the use. That would be stupid and even negligent. But it must be made clear to everybody what is being done.

Congress has proven they cannot be trusted with top secrets.
I$$A is a proven leaker, hence the WH now only lets him read and not copy under the auspices of Boehner.
    M. Bachmann on the House Intelligence committee?

Neither Snowden nor the NSA are innocent. I'm glad that we're talking about privacy rights and the 4th more now, but I'm pissed that Snowden keep releasing information that hurts the US abroad.

The same can be said of the administration.

But the GOP is mostly silent, as compared to last decade.

The majority of both parties are either silent or passively indignant about the NSA topic.

But it is now only a small majority, as you saw with the Amash amendment.
For the time being, a coalition between Libertarians and Dem. Liberals vs. Neo-Cons.
Yet Amash has a dangerous RINO primary in MI .

That shows how serious they are.

There is a reason some people show up mysteriously dead...Michael Hastings comes to mind.

What?? Where in there did I say "forbid the use"? If you look back at where you quoted ME, you see "reform". But before you say it, NOT OBAMA reform, but Sensenbrenner reform, Paul reform.

And what has Snowden released that hurts anything other than US feelings and pride, or embarrasses us?
