There are many deserving, many that could use more, and sadly many abusing the system who could be productive members of society but would rather sit around smoking medical MJ and playing xbox.

so as the country continually increases debt and more and more people are sitting at home collecting the free check, pat yourself on the back if you voted for Obama and his ilk when the country fails completely

Wow, just wow, I knew the radical left doesn't care about anyone but themselves but just wow. Sickening.

It's free stuff.

Some are so pissed off, they are going to milk the system.

It's 3% of the population, for gawd's sake. You think this is the biggest fish to fry? Heck, I can bet the DoD flushes more taxpayer money in one freakin' week. And BTW, as the population increases, so does the number of people on disability. The numbers have been steadily increasing for the last 40 years.

Like I wrote, so freakin' what.

LOL... talk about faux outrage. Tell me, CalGun... in all of your infinite wisdom, what does the information in the article mean for you?:
1) how is it different from the last 40 years?
2) How many do you think abuse the system? (% wise)
3) what would you do if you were President?

:popcorn2:

You support fraud, we get it. At least with DOD, our soldiers have the best equipment, employment stays healthy building the materials needed but with fraudulent disability we get nothing except the unwanted fart in the elevator from some fat ass milking the system.

And just why would I answer your questions? You already illustrated your socialist love fest by not caring. I few anyone that wants to take from one to give to another as a thief, and have no interest in answering their rhetorical questions....especially when they don't care about the facts and answers.

Hah! Typical.

Man1 - "It's only 3% of the population collecting disability benefits! What's the big deal!?"

Man2 - "OK, then let's cut the budget by 3%. It's only a small amount."

Man1 - "THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS!!"

Seriously, Rocketman? You wanna get mad and go after the change under the couch cushions, rather than the billion upon billions wasted by your DoD?

Watchdog Groups Identify Nearly $700 Billion in Wasteful Spending on National Security
WASHINGTON - May 8 - The federal government could reduce the deficit by $688 billion over the next 10 years by cutting unneeded weapons—such as variants of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and the Navy’s Littoral Combat Ship—reining in out-of-control service contracts and slowing its investments in excess nuclear weapons, according to a report released today by the Project On Government Oversight (POGO) and Taxpayers for Common Sense.

As the use of plugs indicates, pay errors are only a small part of the sums that annually disappear into the vast bureaucracy that manages more than half of all annual government outlays approved by Congress. The Defense Department’s 2012 budget totaled $565.8 billion, more than the annual defense budgets of the 10 next largest military spenders combined, including Russia and China. How much of that money is spent as intended is impossible to determine.

In its investigation, Reuters has found that the Pentagon is largely incapable of keeping track of its vast stores of weapons, ammunition and other supplies; thus it continues to spend money on new supplies it doesn’t need and on storing others long out of date. It has amassed a backlog of more than half a trillion dollars in unaudited contracts with outside vendors; how much of that money paid for actual goods and services delivered isn’t known. And it repeatedly falls prey to fraud and theft that can go undiscovered for years, often eventually detected by external law enforcement agencies.

I figured you'd deflect. Sad.

You think everyone collecting disability should be cut off?

Re: 10,988,269: 2013 Closes With Record Number on Disability Getting Highest-Ever Mon

So...not bad as far as incentive to get on disability goes. A family of 5 with a provider on disability would fetch $2477.92 a month, which is $15.49 an hour based on an average 40 hour work week.

I know a lot of states are hiring more and more PI's to catch disability violaters. not only are they losing their benefits some are getting charge backs or arrested if it was bad enough. states are saving millions of dollars.

Our psychiatrists regularly declassified frequent flyers from disabled to malingerers.

The tragedy is that there are in fact MANY people truly disabled and there is a limited number of resources and beds and all too often those resources are unavailable because there is someone there that has learned how to work the system and would rather be provided for than work for themselves.

10 million people taking free checks from Uncle Sam is a significant portion, regardless of what % of the population it is. Also the disability rolls have been increasing as a % of the population for some time now, suggesting that more then just population growth is at play here.

No, just those who are not disabled.

I agree i know people that are truely disabled. They simply can't work and i have no problem helping them out. they are in wheel chairs or have issues walking.
I also know that there are more people out there that do game the system simply because they can.

i also know a lot of states have tightened the restrictions on getting disability as they were flooded after the recession hit.

a friend of mine who had multiple surgeries for a neck injury he suffered in the navy took almost 2 or 3 years and multiple court cases to get full disability.

How does that prove fraud? Or are you against supporting those on disability all together?

This was a recent study from just one small community. The numbers are staggering.
