Jason Leopold: Guantanamo Prisoner's ongoing hunger-strike and detention of 158 prisoners, including some 80 who have been cleared for release or transfer has increased pressure to close Guantanamo

Ongoing Gitmo Hunger-Strike Spurs Prison to Impose Media Blockade - YouTube

Apparently GITMO has a new policy to not report or release #'s of how many people are still on hunger strike because it attracts to much attention to GITMO. There also seems to be a good amount of prisoners at GITMO who are still on hunger strike.

At home, we starve and sell our children for suicide bombs. In Gitmo, we hunger strike!

-1st world problems

Gitmo - the one prison in Cuba where sufficient food is an option.

ps. Nice source. haha

Those ****ers aren't dead yet?

IMO there should have been a closed media policy since the start.

My President has determined that they should be there. He is the Commander-in-Chief, you know.

Actually isnt he starting to try to find a way to close the place down?

Thewre was a 60 minutes report a few weeks ago after the hunger strike - unless this is a new one?

Some of those guys have been there for almost a decade, be nice to actually give them a trial before they die of old age.

Didn't he promise to do that at the begining of his term? And then didn't?

Until it actually happens I won't be holding my breath.

As for the hunger strike...meh...don't care. If they want to be idiots thats on them. No one else.

If you have a problem with The Real News, what is it?

It's a nice idea and I'm sure they enjoy debating their headlines, but it's not a source for breaking news.

Ecofarm in general just has a problem with anything that isnt MSM

Youtube, totalitarian state press, CT and other such nonsense can be safely ignored. Fringe partisan is the first step toward reliability, though a lowly place to rummage about. MSN/Fox are openly biased, CNN and BBC (state but not exclusive) a bit less so.

That independent media is general media and does not make it "bad".

The world is a complicated place and the President is doing the best he can on a wide range of issues. He was just elected into office about a year ago.

Why? Why shouldnt the press have access?

I can't think of a reason they should. The press doesn't have access to a lot of places.... recently the POTUS, specifically no photographers and only white house photographers.

Close the place down.

So he starts from scratch every term? Bwuahahahahaha The empty suit IS doing the best HE can.

Yes, the free press is sure an inconvenience to a tyrannical government.

IMHO, it should have been closed from the start....
