So freedom of the press should be absolute, but freedom of religion has become freedom FROM religion.

Our government kills innocent and supposedly terrorists without a trial with Obama's drones. I suggest we move our military out of Club Getmo and let a few drones finish off who's left.

    Absolutely.
A well informed public and a open government is absolutely necessary in the system we have.
but freedom of religion has become freedom FROM religion.
    Oh god!

Some of those guys have been there for almost a decade, be nice to actually give them a trial before they die of old age.
    Wouldn't a trial be unconstitutional?

A whole year? My how time flies.

I assume they keep adding prisoners so they can't close it down. They could have just transferred these guys to a Super-Max prison right here in good old America, the land of the free. But this must be an ongoing process and you can't smuggle in new prisoners on the mainland and hope to keep it secret.

If you think I'm wrong about this, then explain why it's still there when nobody at all likes it. It's a huge embarrassment to America. There is only one reason to keep it there and let these guys die there. Even if they were all let go, there aren't that many of them. This is our "secret" prison that follows no laws. Goes perfectly with drones.

    Ongoing Gitmo Hunger-Strike
If they are serious, we should be hearing about some deaths from natural causes (ie: self imposed starvation) shortly.
I have no problem with a person choosing to starve their self. They should have that right to do so.

We expect our leaders to evolve their positions as they get a wider perspective and more knowledge of a subject. No single person can know everything about every subject and our President has acknowledged that there is a good deal for which he was not aware on a wide range of subjects. It is good that our leader is learning about these issues as each crisis becomes known to him.

Which is not saying they are "cleared to go back home."

Sadly for democrats, the honeymoon period is just starting to wear off for the vast majority of Americas.

Either it is false, or Obama wants to keep them there.

Yeah, he has been "trying" since before he was elected. And by trying I mean doing literally nothing.

We don't. That's the Hell of being detained incognito. May it never happen to anyone here, again.
