I may sound like a kid here, but i am against mandatory homework.

That said, our education system needs complete reform.

Then their kids can either fail or go to a private school that pampers them like the little bitches they are.

I take it you've never dealt with school boards and administrators in "real life"..They ARE the VIP helicopter parents, as are their social friends in the upper caste..I do like the sentiment of your post though .

I agree I think in many cases homework is just punitive.

I thought the purpose of homework was to reinforce through practice what's taught in the classroom.

This is a real long shot and I have no idea why this question came to mind but how do you feel about paying children to go to school? They could pay for their own lunches. Higher grades, more per hour or class or whatever measurement?

Just a stray question. I'm not looking to derail anything.

The home should be out of the schools jurisdiction. Practice is good, but it should be up to the students whether they want to practice at home.

Children should learn how to earn their keep. This is done in my household. I see nothing wrong with children earning their lunch, sweeping or cleaning the cafeteria when lunch is over is perfectly acceptable. Quite frankly I would insist they earn their keep regardless of whether it was required or not. To blunt I would insist ALL of the children do regardless of whether the lunch is provided by the state or not. Now mind you I will never allow a child of mine to set foot on public school grounds for the purpose of an education.

Exactly. Every kid in the school should have a job. If there arent enough to go around, rotate them.

Sorry; I don't think the students should get a vote on whether they have homework or not.
