Top Secrets documents and high-level insiders in the Pentagon and CIA reveal that Obama, using doctored Syrian army communications, framed Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad for the August 21, 2013 chemical weapons attack.
According to Pulitzer Prize-winning author Seymour Hersh, it was actually the al-Qaeda-linked Syrian rebel group al-Nusra—funded by Obama—trained by none other than our own CIA—and not al-Assad—who was behind the attack.
Shockingly, this was known by Obama hours after the attack.

I believe that the AP confirmed the Syrian opposition was responsible as well.

Wow, interesting. How reliable is this information, in your opinion? I've personally suspected that to be the case, but evidence has been pretty sketchy.

Well I posted months ago the AP's findings of the same. And Seymour Hersh reported earlier this week that we narrowly escaped Obama lying us into another war in Syria this time, but that strong opposition from the Pentagon backed him up.

Show me AP, the Germans, and the Russians please. I'd appreciate it.

Associated Press reporter Dale Gavlak has been threatened over her involvement in a story which exposed how Syrian rebels were responsible for the August 21st chemical weapons attack after being handed the weapons by Saudi intelligence agents.

BERLIN — Syrian President Bashar Assad has repeatedly rejected requests from his field commanders for approval to use chemical weapons, according to a report this weekend in a German newspaper.

MOSCOW – Russia will submit evidence to the United Nations Security Council implicating Syrian rebels in chemical weapons attacks, including one last month on Damascus suburbs, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.

“We have plenty of evidence and reports of chemical weapons use that prove the fact that the opposition regularly resorts to provocations to bring about strikes and intervention against Syria,” Lavrov told reporters in the city of Valdai, in northwestern Russia.

Seymour Hersh is the guy who claimed Bush was planning a nuclear first strike of Iran and that the mission to kill Bin Laden was "pure fiction". Don't take him seriously. He is infowars level insane.

Non-issue. I challenge anyone to tell me one "terrorist" figurehead we've captured, detained, or killed in the last 30 years that wasn't on the CIA payroll at one point in time.

SH is a longtime reporter with plenty of credibility under his belt. Perhaps his work helped prevent it.

Well yeah, you prolly won't get any challengers.

Longtime reporter, yes. Broke a big story at one time. Then went off the deep end. Check out his book on Kennedy as another example.

He's done far more than that, and this is just some of it. But I understand a very liberals desire to defend Obama.

Seymour Myron "Sy" Hersh (born April 8, 1937) is an American Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist and author based in Washington, D.C. He is a regular contributor to The New Yorker magazine on military and security matters. He has also won two National Magazine Awards and is a "five-time Polk winner and recipient of the 2004 George Orwell Award."[5]
He first gained worldwide recognition in 1969 for exposing the My Lai Massacre and its cover-up during the Vietnam War, for which he received the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting. His 2004 reports on the US military's mistreatment of detainees at Abu Ghraib prison gained much attention.

I did not defend Obama, I pointed out that the source is not credible. As you would discover if you read that wiki article you link, you will discover that he tends to use hearsay from a single source.

Ok buddy sure.

I first heard about this yesterday on a Peter B Collins podcast episode, and he mentioned that Hersch is writing regularly for the New Yorker now...who weren't interested in the story, still writes for the NY Times...who weren't interested either. Neither was the Washington Post, or any other mainstream U.S. media outlet, so he has to go to the London Review of Books!

And, now that it's out there, have any Republicans spoken up about something that would be a treasonous offense by a U.S. president if proven? Or, are they still sifting through Benghazi or expressing their outrage at Obama for getting his picture taken at the Nelson Mandela memorial?

But, then again, I don't hear any Republican outrage about how President Obama has expanded the security and surveillance regimes as revealed by the Snowden leaks. No complaints about the expansion of drone warfare, prosecutions of whistleblowers etc.. There seems to be a lot of common ground on many issues, and as a result are never up for debate in a two party system!

ONE big story? Seems to me he's part of a dying breed of real journalists who can't be bought off, intimidated or been caught up with taking sides for political expediency. Hersch doesn't care if it's a Democratic or Republican Administration, if there's smoke, he's going to look for the source of the fire. And there are so many things that smelled about that attempt to launch a new war in Syria, that I'm inclined to believe that he's got some real sources to back up that claim that the Obama Administration was withholding evidence and trying to fabricate a justification for an air war against Syria.

He's done far more than that, and this is just some of it. But I understand a very liberals desire to defend Obama.

When someone proclaims the worst thing Ted Bundy ever did was eat a unicorn, I am not defending Ted Bundy when I point out unicorns don't exist.

All very good points. Unfortunately the parties don't prosecute each other for their crimes against our constitution for the three fingers pointing back at themselves. That's why partisans contribute to the problem.

As to your last point, their is a House Resolution (discussed in some detail in another thread) sponsored by a Republican!!!! And co-sponsored by a Democrat, which has an estimation of 80% chance of passing, but then theres the senate and yada yada.

If you seriously want to discredit Seymour Hersh, have at it.

i don't believe it. we did just about everything possible to avoid going into Syria; my guess is that we got with Russia before Kerry's "spontaneous" statement and figured out a way to avoid it. i doubt we were simultaneously trying to find an excuse to go to war and an excuse to get out of it at the same time. if it smells like conspiracy kookery, it usually is.

Shocked I say, bloody shocked, to discover that the US government would stage certain events to advance an agenda! What is this world coming to??? ;)

This story isn't difficult to understand. We're setting the stage for WW3:

Syria is allies with Iran. Israel wants war with Iran. U.S, Israel, S. Arabia funded the Syrian Rebels and staged a chemical attack to disarm the largest chem. weapons supply in the region. Israel's enemy to its north is now in shambles, and to its west, Iraq's airspace has been domesticated. Permanent bases are already in function to the west of Iran, in Afghanistan. Iran is being surrounded. Destroying Syria's chemical weapons is the final phase to setting a controlled war. CIA is giving Iran all the help and time needed to develope a nuke, and once that's achieved...game on.

The banksters have already written the playbook and it involves Iran and Israel destroying each other to usher in WW3. The Zionist who control Israel aren't real jews - they hate jews and the best way to control your enemy, is to lead them. With new pacts being made with Iran, this calm-before-the-storm will, in my opinion, last 3 1/2 years.

And that's exactly what Syria, Iran, Russia and China were predicting would be the outcome. Sy Hersh reported also that there were about 10 upper brass-men at the Pentagon giving Obama STIFF opposition to any military involvement in Syria.
