The NSA's Reach Might Be Even Bigger Than We Thought

So you've been sleeping thru Snowden's disclosures and interviews. Did you see the author of the Patriot Acts criticisms of congress on the NSA and the NSA itself?

Perhaps rather than jump all over the place, you can just give a link to empirical evidence that shows they were going through the average joe's telephone records… report one 'innocent person' that was swept up into this.

Nobody posting on any forum suffers from small ego syndrome.

I understand it's a very big world and that in general they don't give a crap about me or most citizens.

I mean, I still can't tell if you joke, or really have been sleeping. Just google 'NSA spying on average citizens' you'll be reading into the wee hours. They've also been spying on non average citizens and governments the world over and it's pissing everyone off, except you of course.

So what you are saying is you have no link to data of actual citizens being spied on? You know, a hard example of Mr. Smith who was arrested for something not related to terrorism, because they were just browsing through all his data and found something… let's see it.

Under the rules approved by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, the agency's broad-reaching phone metadata collection program can only sift through details on who Americans called and when if the caller is three or fewer degrees of separation, or "hops," from a number suspected of associations with terrorism.
If they're obeying that rule I have no beef. "Ohhhh nooo, they'll find out I called my grandma the other day!"

They also targeting progressive and liberal groups to. So no they were doing their job, nice try tho. (but lets not derail this thread tho this is not abotu the IRS)

IRS should not target anyone. I don't care if they push their power unilaterally, it is government force and government force is restricted. Be it the NSA or the IRS or HLS or any of it....it's all restricted and it all must be bound by the chains of the Constitution.

When they are targeting academics, gammers, collecting peoples porn habits, spying on our allies, and spying on activists ive seen enough evidence.

Targeting gamers. Haha, like anyone gives a **** about them. Even their parents couldn't give a crap.

That's awfully hysterical for an article of "could be". Do you always base outrage on speculations?

One minute it's "Iran could be developing a nuke" and all evidence is denied. The next minute it's "the NSA could be investigating many people" and no evidence is required for outrage. Odd. It's enough to wonder if the outrage is rational or just agenda-driven nonsense.

Their homeboy is president, so I wonder where fuax-rage comes from.

From Faux News, of course. They're big fans these days. The time has come for the left-wing fringies to throw the Pres under the bus.

That'll never happen...lol! You notice they never admit that Obama has anything to do with it.

I gave you a link which you omitted from your quote, and told you what to google to keep yourself busy reading all night. But if you have no problem with the NSA, we only hope your outnumbered.

You can google and find claims left and right. Other than stories of a few employees violating the rules (and then getting disciplined or fired), there isn't anything real solid. So again, we wait for this great inside information you have.

Those are all "may be" and "could be", according to incomplete documents leaked by a sub-human. Seems just the sort of source to get outraged about, for some people.

How again are these "may be" and "could be". The documents were leaked!

"incomplete"? 82 pages of very in depth about what to do while online, what to ask, etc, goes into very deep info.
A "sub-human"?

Seems just the sort of source to get outraged about, for some people.
I forget everything is faux outrage if it does not satisfy you.

It's not inside information. You paid no attention to Ed Snowden. Also, the BRICS are creating their own independent Internet in direct response to the National Spy Agency compromising privacy. You missed Brazils presidents comments at the UN a couple months ago and the UTAH facility isn't as expansive as it is to listen to terrorists, nor have they thwarted anything, kinda like their cousin the Transportation Spy Agency.

So what you are saying (still), is you have no actual accounts of them doing what you claim… no down the the individual citizen, proof of anything. Thanks.

No, that's not even close to what I said. Last time. I provided you a link with SPECIFICS and told you where you could go for all that you would need to keep you reading all night. It can be no simpler unless I came over and opened them for you.

There were no specifics, there were no cases that showed the story of an individual 'wronged' by all of this.

What are you looking for, an Americans name? The PBS article would have been thousands of pages with individuals names instead of two pages giving you numbers. The spy apparatus extends to appliances, your automobile, x-box games and 30 million cameras posted around the country to keep eye on your every move. If your ok with this, then just say your ok with it. But for Pete's sake, stop pretending it isn't there!

How can one be ok with nonsense conspiracy stuff?

Are you suggesting that a private company should not be allowed to ask its customers if its all right to "spy" on them for their benefit? You mean to suggest that people shouldn't be free to accept the snooping of a private company they do business with? I agree a company should not impose it, but if a company offers it as a service then I should be free to accept the service or do business with a company that does (if I want such a thing).

For example I bank with a local or so called "regional" bank. I like it that they shut my ATM down and call me when they think "SHTF" has happened and that purchases are being made with my card. They've saved me twice from hackers that obtained my ATM at the gas station. I'm all for freedom - including the freedom to choose snooping if I want the company I do business with to monitor things for my gain.

This is why I support a anti-spying amendment(which would also applies to companies as well) to supplement the 4th amendment. But it would probably be easier to strip funding from the NSA than to enact another amendment.
