You can walk out anytime you want. You can work for someone else. Why is that so hard to understand?

You dont have a right to force your will on people. If he doesnt want to negotiate, he doesnt have to.

Our local grocery store was open until noon or 1 or something similar. No biggie. I do not know why everyone is making a big deal out of working on Thanksgiving.

If the balance structure is shifted in one direction, you end up with slave labor. People who work 50+ hours for twelve dollars a day can quit too but twelve dollars is better than zero. That is the definition of exploitation.

No it isnt. And slaves arent consenting workers. This whole post is wrong on so many levels.

Then that's what they've got to do unless they choose to either move or better their situation with education or management programs.
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.

If it is his business, he should be allowed to hire and fire whoever he wants. Period. If he doesnt want to negotiate, he doesnt have to.
