    Authorities Destroy Mosques in Angola

are they different from the taliban terrorists that destroyed ancient buddha statues ? the way they struggle with the islamists shouldnt justify islamists's claims that islam isnt tolerated.

AngolaPress, ”their temples will be closed until the new pronunciation in the case”. The Minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, said that a law related to liberty of religious assembly should be revised “as a way of fighting ‘vigorously’ the coming up of new religious congregation whose religious assembly are contrary to our habits and customs to Angolan culture.”

The Muslim Community of Angola (CISA) considers that the government is undertaking religious persecution and preventing the realization of religious cults. So is referred in the caption of a video posted on Youtube last September by Coque Manuel which shows a mosque in the city of Moxico being destroyed:

Mornin Medusa. What is it that bothers you about this? Whom would you say is more known for destroying religious works and burning down Holy structures?

Another question that should be asked.....why are these African tribes giving up their own Gods and religion to become converts of Islam and then identify themselves as a Muslim. Why would they want to follow those that cannot lead the way Spiritually?

l really dont know but angola is full of muslims and not every muslim is islamist you know ,MMC ? brutalities are usually comdemned whether they come from islamist or not ,fascists or not etc..

nobody was christian or muslim before christ ,lets destroy the churches ?

l believe so called democratic western governments should intervene in angola why because they claim to be democrat.

acting like the ones that you comdemn isnt the right way to destroy an extremism.

Yet it takes their Cleric leaders and others religious leaders to rally and call forth this type of aggression. If their holy men wont preach peace. Then that's where I think we start to deal with the problem.

Religious Leader in democracies get charged by the law for inciting riots and racial prejudice and hatred. It is like this for any religious leaders in Democracies.

A regime, be it the Taliban or whatever crackpots are running Angola now, destroy religious structures for the sole reason of exerting power.

It was a heinous abuse of authority, not to mention history, when the Taliban destroyed the Buddhist sculptures in Afghanistan, and it's a heinous abuse of authority and history for the Angolans to do this. Whether you agree with the religion or not, those sites are steeped in history and should be kept intact.

However, as far as "Reasons to intervene in a sovereign nation's affairs" go, desecrating religious sites is low on my list. Could be worse. They could be genociding actual people, rather than just crushing their idols.

The thought of many Westerners is that the Muslims in the Middle East are trying to draw us back into the middle ages.

it wasnt saddam ,qaddafi or assad who supported the islamist militants in the process of arabian spring

    it was CIA

so teh west wants to exploit the ME after drawing it back to middle ages because you cant control and exploit the educated people unless bigotry keeps them ignorant
