Good news, California: Surplus is $2.4 billion

Carmel and the 17 mile road trip.

Did go you a little further south into Big Sur ?

I remember years ago there was talk of selling Yosemite National Park to the Japanese.

I think the Germans have their eyes on Death Valley.

No, I didn't get to the Big Sur, unfortunately. She was driving. She had/has a large motor home, so after leaving Pebble Beach, we traveled up the coast, ate salads with steaks for dinner that she cooked on a little grate right on the sand at the Pacific Ocean's edge, and then we slept in the motor home. And that was only the first first day of my trip, too. Wow! Every day it was something new and exciting to see....

They are going to apply the surplus to the debt every year. At this pace they will have it payed off in about 170 years.

 .... :lamo ....

Good evening, Jmotivator. :2wave:

Ate a lot of salads did you ?

That area just east of Monterey around Salinas is known as the "Salad Bowl of America."

Catroville just north of Monterey is the "Artichoke Capital of the World."

That "Ram Rod Club" in San Fransisco that looks like a country western bar isn't country western.

i consider failure in terms of what afghanistan, iraq, turkmenistan, and Somalia are considered failed states.

California is not in anarchy so it has not failed, and i refuse to believe that we have failed in the same way as Somalia.

Thats a pretty low bar you have set there.

Hmmph.....I live in NorCal and I've never heard of this place.
You seem to have done a lot of in-depth research.

Dont forget Gilroy garlic, or San Diego Avocado's.

And the "Male Box" in Palm Springs has NOTHING to do with the mail.

The so called surplus is annual not overall. Calif is still in the hole big time. Proposition 30 that raised taxes is nothing more than a heroin addict making a big score and sitting in his flop house fat dumb and happy. In the end prop 30 will do more harm than good as the earners flee the state.

Liberals are big on salivating over any good news, even if it's raping the tax payer to gain a few bucks, but there is no mention of them paying down California's gross debt.

Also saw The Winchester House in San Jose; the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz where the gravity isn't normal... :wow:

With a name like "Ram Rod Club," in San Francisco.... lemme guess

That wannabe Republican Governor didn't wear the pants in the family, it was a member of the Kennedy klan who wore the pants in that Governor's family.

Arnold gets a bad rap as guv.
He pushed for financial reform and was able to put several reform initiatives on the ballot.
They were all rejected by the electorate.
After those initiatives failed, he was just treading water, and the 2008 financial collapse drowned the guy.

I sure didn't vote for that girly man, I voted for McClintock.

McClintock??
The professional politician?
Jeez, the guy moves all over the state, from district to district, in an effort to keep his GOVERNMENT job.
The only guy worse than Tom is Dan Lunngren.
They're both career bureaucrats.
Beats working, I guess.

EDIT: Not really a fan of Arnie's anymore....the guy humiliated his girl...unforgivable.

There's story behind (no pun intended) the Ram Rod Club in Frisco.

It was during the mid 80's and a business associate of mine from Texas a real cowboy and I has just landed at SOF and took a cab to our hotel. While driving down the road he sees this sign (Ram Rod Club) and what looks like a club. Most people think of ram rod as a boss on a cattle drive. My friend says, "Hey Rat, they have a country western bar in San Fransisco." It took me a minute to figure it out, that it wasn't a country western bar but I didn't say nothing.

That night my buddy from Texas want to know if I wanted to check out that country western bar, I said no I'm just going to hang out in the hotel room tonight. I didn't say nothing.

About two hours later there was a knock on my door. There he stood, red faced and said "You knew didn't you" ? I couldn't keep a straight face and broke out laughing.

In San Fransisco, ram rodding is buggery.

OF COURSE there is a super majority of Dems!there is a $2.4 billion surplus this year.:2wave:

That means they stole too much money from the citizenry. So you support stealing.

I've never visited the Winchester House but Huell Howser did a 60 minute special on it. Pretty cool house.

For anyone who are guessing, yes the same Winchester's as the Winchester rifle.

Yeah, Gilroy and the annual Garlic Festival and garlic shakes.

Palm Springs has gone gay hasn't it ?

Dont forget the Garlic fries.

Palm Springs is gay as a rainbow. Its a fascinating mix of wealthy old folks, gays, and illegal immigrants working the valley.

One of these days I want to go there, and the Russian settlement north of the Bay.

Y'know APACHE, I rarely agree with you on anything.
However, I must give you credit for your insatiable quest for knowledge.

Well if you like illegal aliens and being taxed, you're not going to like McClintock.

He only moved once, from SoCal to NorCal where he would be in a safe district to take his fight against waste and high taxes to Washington D.C.

It's nice that the gay community found a place to get away from West Hollywood on the weekends and frolic in the frickin heat in Palms Springs.

Looks like California is doing pretty good, they’ll finish this year with $2.4 billion on the plus side. :2wave:

<$3.1 billion for schools>

<Under the analyst's projections, California schools will receive an additional $3.1 billion this school year.>

Good news, California: Surplus is $2.4 billion - SFGate

Good for Governor Brown and the legislature. I though for sure California would be the first state ever to go bankrupt. My hat off to Governor Jerry Brown.

You want to know your surroundings and where if you accidently drop your car keys that you don't bend over to pick them up.

Good reforms were rejected by the liberal electorate. Arrrrrrrrnold was a sardine surrounded by liberal sharks.

See there....this is the difference between you and I.
While you see Tommy as a young, up and coming, dynamic wunderkind.
I see him as a gerrymandered political hack, ceaselessly milking the taxpayers for sustenance.
How did you become such a ****-eyed optimist, you crazy young kid?
