I didn't hear a liberal specifically say this, but I have seen that liberals love big government. The bigger the government, the more powerful it is, the happier liberals are.

I want three firefighters stationed at each home.
If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

    I get it completely.
So the title of the article should have been, "Arthritic and Infirm Too Stupid to Change Knobs for Levers; Vancouver to Take Charge".

I think if you want to do it on interiors, that is fine. I would think on exterior doors the levers would be easier to break open with a heavy hammer than a standard round door knob.
Given that you said it it would be easier to block the door by putting a jack between the door and the handle and jacking it where the it cannot turn than with a knob.

You do realize with the exception of light bulbs you are being regulated by STATE governments, right??? But what about the unvented heaters, emergency access windows in bedrooms, firewall ratings, seat belts, air bags...

I'm amazed lever door knobs are not THE handle on doors already.

I don't have a beef with not wanting door knobs mandated or marriage restricted because a few don't like gay folks, getting rid of incandescant lights works for me (sometimes the angry old man routine is little more than that)... but I do get a good laugh when some think 'their' kind made America great...

THAT is what got my attention, I have gassed up in NJ, can't say I felt my rights were infringed by having an attendant fill my tank... I reckon some folks are a tad more sensitive...

Funny how unsourced such statements are... Reagan expanded the federal government, BushII greatly expanded the reach the government has into our so-called private communications. CONs are going out of their way to dictate who can and can't marry, just how a doctor can work with their patient when it comes to reproductive rights. Does a bigger military make it more powerful- if yes, then CONs LOVE bigger government....

I'd say CONs love a big government and deeper into your private lives government as much as anyone...

    From this CBC offbeat article.

I honestly don't know what to think about this.
Gotta say that while I love Canada, this is not really a surprise. This summer we vacationed in the eastern Canadian Maritimes for a week and loved it tremendously. However, what my friends on the right like to call 'nanny state government' did raise its ugly head twice. Getting and actual drink in most parts of Canada is a waste of time as they have laws strictly limiting the amount of liquor that can go into it. I gave us asking for a decent Long Island as its a waste of time, effort and money. And then we tried to order a hamburger at a bar that was said to have the best burgers in St. John only to be told they only come one way - well done by order of the law. We were assured it would not be dry..... and it was.... how else could it not be?

So this thing about doorknobs is not at all unexpected.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Has anyone started the Canadian Doorknob Assn. yet. You need a lobby. If you don't protect your doorknob rights today, they will be gone tomorrow.

I'm not a conservative. But I do agree with bush not being a true conservative and I agree that there are contradictions among people who claim to be conservative. I don't know a whole lot about Reagan, but I'm not on that bandwagon.
