Vance McAllister upsets Neil Riser in Louisiana House runoff

Businessman Vance McAllister has won the special runoff election for a vacant northeast Louisiana congressional seat, notching an upset win over fellow Republican Neil Riser, according to the Associated Press.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, McAllister, a political newcomer, led Riser, a state senator who had won the support of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and much of the state’s GOP congressional delegation, 59.7 percent to 40.3 percent.
Now here is the strangeness of this election. McAllister strongly supports Obamacare and favors Medicaid expansion in Louisiana. McAllister is a Republican. Who would have thunk it? And who would have thunk that, by taking this stance, he would crush his opponent? In Louisiana? LOL.

But here is the deal. Political choices are not cut and dried. There ARE some Republicans in favor of Obamacare, and there ARE some Democrats who are dead set against Obamacare. Please consider that the next time you make a blanket statement. No, in politics, one size does NOT fit all (Especially if you are Governor Christie - (LOL).

    Article is here.
