The fight over how to define the new health law’s success is coming down to one question: Who counts as an Obamacare enrollee?Health insurance plans only count subscribers as enrolled in a health plan once they’ve submited a payment. That is when the carrier sends out a member card and begins paying doctor bills.
When the Obama administration releases health law enrollment figures later this week, though, it will use a more expansive definition. It will count people who have purchased a plan as well as those who have a plan sitting in their online shopping cart but have not yet paid.

This is a disgusting tactic. Obama, or whomever is managing this cluster****, absolutely should not be doing this. It's completely dishonest. Insurance doesn't count until someone pays. In some cases it doesn't count until someone pays and that payment is on the books for 30 days.

I remember when this government redefinition project got off the ground with the infamous "The stimulus has created or saved XXX jobs" just like it was yesterday.

The big question is whether or not they will be breaking out Medicare enrollees as those are totally non-contributing.

When you have a failed policy you count the numbers anyway you can to improve your position. This is more of the same. If you like your insurance you can keep it. Period. Plus they will include the Medicare enrolls in their numbers to push up a false number to once again lie to the public. Pathetic!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO, this roll out of the Obamacare exchanges is so pathetic that they are going to count visitors to the web site as enrollees...

Remember that when the Administration & the news tells you how great the enrollment is later this month.

If you cant get the numbers you need, just lie about it and make them up. You Obama supporters should be so proud of your "Chosen One".

so does this mean all I have to do is put a plan into my shopping cart and I will be counted as enrolled there for not have to pay the fine

No chance. Remember this is the administration that argued opposite sides of the fence on this issue at the SC. Plus the IRS does everything legal and illegal that Obama wants.

Yep and I expect even using this broadened definition the number of enrollees will STILL be pathetic. The gas is about to be thrown on the fire...

By the accounts given you will be counted as enrolled but I dont think that will help you avoid a fine...but let me know how it works out for ya :clap:

Yes the faked numbers will be pathetic and the actual numbers will be down right sad...but they will spin it and create excuses and delays to cover over the fact that it is a shinny $600+ million turd.

Government...isnt it great how smooth things work out when they do it.
