This would be legitimate if most Americans were...what's the word? Oh yeah. Smart.

Of course uneducated scrubs are going to support MW increases - it's immediate gratification, and they don't understand the ramifications of it. If they did, they wouldn't make minimum wage.

I don't cater to the lowest common denominator.

Gallup is a Right Wing poll. So, we can ignore it. Right?

My response to that is to get a real job and get your lazy ass off minimum wage.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

I agree. 76% of Americans should definitely make more than the minimum wage. I cannot encourage them enough to go forth and earn it.

I would be Ok if the min wage was on par with what a welfare recipient made. It's my understanding that at the current avg for min wage for 40 hrs is less than what the avg recipient receives in welfare (I'm currently too tires to look it up ).

Gallup: 76% Of Americans Support A Minimum Wage Increase

More than three quarters of Americans support an increase in the minimum wage, according to a Gallup Poll released Monday.
Seventy-six percent said the minimum wage should be raised to $9 per hour, a five point jump from March. A law that would raise the minimum wage and tie future minimum wage increases to inflation got slightly less support at 69 percent.

Fifty-six percent of Republicans said they oppose linking the minimum wage to inflation, while only eight percent of Democrats opposed that type of measure.

Voters in New Jersey approved a measure Tuesday that raises the minimum wage in the state to $8.25 and ties further increases to inflation.
So more Americans are unthinking idiots than just the Dem party.
Only a fool measures equality by results and not opportunities.

That sounds about right, only I'd think that someone working full time should be making at least 10% or so more than someone who is just living on the largess of government.

Don't bother trying to explain that to them. Most of the conservatives here seem to feel like anyone making less money than they are is a shiftless loser, no matter how many hours they work.
