Yeah, nice exaggeration. I'm sure it's a daily occurance for you to have someone reverse and back a truck into your cruiser in attempt to get away and then refuse to stand down when cornered - not.

    Thats where I quit reading.
My only response to any of it is, "were you there?".
I am going with no you were not.

You're right. He has a criminal past.

Dad Calls Cops on Son to Teach Him a Lesson, Cops Shoot Son Dead

James said his son had his fair share of minor troubles with the law, and was distraught over a recent breakup with his girlfriend, but was in the process of turning his life around, and was working on obtaining his GED at Des Moines Area Community College.
This reminds me of a poster on DP from a long time ago. Their kid got into "some minor issues" with the law and got the option of joining the military or going to jail. I always laugh at **** like this. Parents try to minimize what their kids do and then you have jerkoffs who try to blow some of it out of proportion. For example, posing on Twitter with fake grills, smoking weed and skinny frame? Criminal. Being known to the legal system and then endangering the lives of others by running people off a road? Poor baby!

That's one of those crystal ball gazing things. Like asking how many kids are saved by jailing a pedophile. We do know that judgement impaired young reckless drivers are responsible for many a death and maiming of innocents. How many of those deaths are prevented every year by police chasing and catching the offenders, that we'll never know.

So basically they shoot an unarmed kid because he won't cut the truck off? This is overkill. Thus proving you cannot trust a government official with a deadly weapon. We can't even trust then with microphones. Maybe we SHOULD disarm police and only allow specially trained officers carry like in the UK. They can't stop shooting people.
This cop shooting is just wrong in so many ways. WTF were they thinking?

When you chase a guy endangering the lives of others does it get better or worse? Does he feel more threatened or less? How is it even possible that a high speed chase makes sense?

It's gets better for those who might have been killed or maimed by his reckless driving if left to his own devices. Btw, that's why the penalties for making the police chase you in a vehicle should include never being allowed behind the wheel of a motor vehicle again.

So when the police chase someone through town or down the interstate does that put more or less lives in danger? Come on, this isn't hard to figure out. There is no way a high speed police chase makes a situation better.

There is little significant difference between someone driving through town recklessly at 100 mph on their own and being chased. Whether and how long to pursue is a judgement call. Depending upon policy it's sometimes the officer on the scene who makes that call, sometimes an experienced incident commander.
