I agree. I have no problem with the father calling the police. The son took his employer's truck. The father could lost his job over that and sometimes a parent should call the cops on their kid, although unfortunately that assumes reasonable police response... and I don't think the father really thought that one thru as his son was an adult and would be treated like one. Probably still thought of his kid as a minor.

At least you now acknowledge it was a retailiatory punitive shooting.

Strange that the officer who shot him radioed in "we got shots fired."
you did not see his vehicle lurch toward the cops immediately prior to their shots? let me encourage you to look at that spot of the video again

So basically they shoot an unarmed kid because he won't cut the truck off? This is overkill. Thus proving you cannot trust a government official with a deadly weapon. We can't even trust then with microphones. Maybe we SHOULD disarm police and only allow specially trained officers carry like in the UK. They can't stop shooting people.
So - what's gone wrong with law enforcement? What training are they receiving that's turned them into unreasonable and psychotic? Or - what training have they NOT received.

I know the law hasn't always been clean cut - in fact - the idea is laughable. But WHY? Why do they get away with things, why are things so ****ed up for so many?

What does their training consist of and can any of them be trusted to handle things right? Well obvious many can because a lot of people will never fire a weapon on duty throughout their careers . . . so what are the warning signs for those who flip out and do it *all wrong?*

This is a serious issue, and it needs to be addressed - but people aren't really digging into it because it's LAW enforcement gone wrong.

No, maybe I was looking at a different video. I saw landscape stuff flying over a police cruiser when he backed into the police cruiser. Within a second 8 shots were rapidly. fired. Then I see an officer enter the picture pointing his service revolver and calling into his shoulder mic "shots fired."

when your job is primarily to intervene with the dregs of society, how can it not affect many leos

but in this instance, the kid was directing a massive weapon, wielding it against the cops

The problem isn't just with law enforcement, but the public. Over and over and over we read on this forum... "but he/she was breaking the law so s/he deserved to die" or "s/he didn't instantly throw him/herself on the ground or hands in the arm so the police should have shot him/her 10 times."

Step by step by step, people accept more and more government power and government/law enforcement people have ever greater rights and importance than ordinary people.

do NOT ram police cars with another vehicle
do NOT threaten police with a vehicle
if i have been deemed a threat by police and they have their guns on me issuing commands do NOT disobey

again, not saying its a fact the police did nothing wrong i wasnt there but the above are 3 easy ways to get yourself shot all by them selves let alone all together
ok now that i have watched the multiple dash cams i definitely stick by my statements

after seeing him ram cops and attack them with the truck, almost hit people and not care about them and then ram the cop car again the kid committed suicide by cop.

could it have turned out different? yes

I don't see acceptance of it - I see a growing concern and mistrust of our law enforcement.
I'm not putting this on people.

Well - I've seen a lot of chases end without the shooting and death of the un-armed driver, so I know it's possible to disable a vehicle and arrest the suspect. So, yet again, that doesn't fly for me.

    Total overstatement.

If this had been college kids using their vehicles to try to stop someone racing thru campus ramming the truck - and when the truck rammed back one of those kids jumped out and shot that driver firing 8 rounds, we know the same members saying the police acted correctly would instead be screaming "Vigilante!!!" "Murder!" "Endangering others by shooting on campus!!!" "Just as bad for driving just as fast chasing him!!!!" and demand he go to prison for life for murder.

How vastly, vastly important a police officer's life has become in relation to the rest of us. At least they should write separate penal codes for police and government employees and another for the people who aren't in government to clarify. Maybe amend the constitution for two different sets of Bill of Rights too.
