Mom Lets Son Wear KKK Halloween Costume, Says It's A Family Tradition

Just to point out something. No one has said racism is dead. What is said is institutionalised racism is dead, and in the US it is for all practical purposes. HUGE difference.

Honestly, why should we care? This woman is obviously beyond hope, and it speaks for itself that the entire town basically shunned her for it. There are always going to be a handful of racist extremist, but considering I don't see anyone coming to her defense, then its really not something to lose sleep over.

Easy to say when you're not the target. How dismissive and insulting a comment. You are certainly free however, to make comments and tote around an attitude of dismissiveness if you like. It's your prerogative to ignore and/or attempt to diminish things that make you uncomfortable, but I prefer to call them out.

Nope, but I'd support fining parents who make terribly damaging life decisions for their kids. For example, calling your kid "Maleek Black Panther Jackson" is a ****ing terrible way to name your kid. And no. It's not your right to set your kids up for a life of ridicule.

Fining parents? Who would be doing the fining? Would the money go into a general fund or some kind of set aside for a different purpose? What if they don't have the money, would we put them in debtors prison? Would you take away the child?

What other things would you lump into the "damaging life decision" category?

Again, such people exist that hate whites, Mexicans, Asians, etc. Big ****ing deal. What matters is how these people are dealt with at the sociatal level and if their ass-hattery is widely accepted.

PS and again, what is your "calling out" accomplishing here? Making people aware that backwards racist exist in rural Virginia? This isn't exactly a revelation that confounds people.

So like him you have not one example of anyone in this thread or another that said anything even close correct?

So you have no argument just like #40.

Ok, well, I think the Progressive agenda is one of the more racist, vindictive and damaging approaches this country has seen in many years. If that makes you uncomfortable, too bad, but I prefer to call it out.

You're free to complain about anything you want. No one said you can't. But this story is just a story about some dumb jerk and there are tons of dumb jerks in America. No law against being a dumb jerk, nor can there be in any general sense. That is thought control, and government enforced thought control is well more dangerous than random idiots.

Actually, I want control over the "damaging life decision" definition. You can do a lot with the power to define that.

It's more than being a dumb jerk. The KKK is a terrorist organization, as well as a hate group. Making a tot wear a uniform of such organizations is tantamount to child abuse, IMO.

Wear it if you want. If you come home that night with no candy and an ass-beating, it's your fault.

And the hand ringers are giving them exactly what they're looking for.

That's rather a subjective thing isn't it. Why criticize or demean the concerns of others? It seems like an odd reaction. Defensive almost.

Mom Lets Son Wear KKK Halloween Costume, Says It's A Family Tradition

A Virginia mother let her 7-year-old son wear a Ku Klux Klan costume this Halloween because, she insisted, it's a family tradition.

"My brother has [worn it] when he was in Kindergarten and when he was 13," Black said. She went on to claim there is nothing wrong with the costume or with the White Supremacist group, which she says still exists in their Virginia town. "It's supposed to be white with white, black with black, man with woman and all of that. That's what the KKK stands for."

Seriously?....seriously!!....seriously

How stupid do you have to be to not get that this is, at the very least, a really really bad idea for your child's Halloween costume? For all those folks out there who claim that racism is dead....ummmmmmm....no.

The KKK is a domestic terrorist organization, as well as a hate group. Since 7 is too young to make decisions on his own, forcing a child to wear the uniform of a terrorist organization and hate group is a form of child abuse, IMO.

Her name is "Black"? That's too funny.

It's Halloween they can dress as they damn well please. Don't look if you find it different from YOUR choice of costumes.

WOW!! Are you serious. That's really the extent of you thought on this? It's different??

The kid made the choice to wear it, so he wasn't forced. The KKK is a retard organization, but that's not illegal. Anyone is free to espouse anything they want so long as they do not infringe upon the rights of others in the process.

I am NOT going to dig through volumes of old posts or anything else because you challenge that statement. You don't want to believe it ....fine, don't. But once again you charge in and make unsupported claims in an effort to discredit others based on nothing other then your emphatic denial. Not good enough BM. I'm not an idiot and I do not imagine events in my life. It has been said, it has been said here.

You have every right in the world say as many ungrounded and ignorant things as you'd like. Please, have a field day.

Seven years old is too young to make life decisions, of course. But you know that. That's why they're called minors.

Child abuse is, in fact, illegal. Forcing the child (or brainwashing the child) to wear an Al Qaeda uniform or KKK uniform or Nazi uniform or something clearly identifiable as a White Supremacist gang member....all those things could be considered a form of child abuse. A child cannot legally "agree" to anything. But you know that.

It ain't playing the race card to point out inbred dumbasstic, moronic, teeth grinding, butt scratching, booger eating ignorance.

Or at least that's my opinion as a conservative.

Don't be hatin'.

It's usually hard to conversate with ideologues. Too many of them think that rights are limited. Speech they agree with deserves protection, but speech they despise deserves censorship, even incarceration.

These are your opinions. The kid made a choice to what he wanted to wear, parents didn't object. That's all. No one's rights were infringed upon here, there's no foul. You don't get to dictate how others think or feel, sorry.

So you are just going to assume people here are saying this nonsense? I have been posting here for almost 5 years. Only a complete nimrod would say racism no longer exists. It's not the conservative nimrods either. The problem is you are speaking in untrue blanket terms that simply do not apply.

Blanket statements and anecdotal evidence account for nothing. My statement stands as true. This thread for instance... 9 pages? To much to search through? No one has mad such an asinine comment.

If she had any brain, then she would have said that it was a Capirote.. and claimed religious protection.

Capirote - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

But then again, if she was in the clan..then the whole brain thing never existed in that family.

I'm not racist. I have a black friend.

No one is suggesting we riot because some backward hick is putting their ignorance proudly on display....again. But everyone is free to comment on what they think of the mentality behind this choice. I am not a passive person, you do something insensitive or destructive to others, you promote a way of thinking that is demeaning to others and I will call you on it. If we stop and turn away from that obligation we are abandoning each other.
