Mom Lets Son Wear KKK Halloween Costume, Says It's A Family Tradition

That was the KOOL Kindergarten Klan!

The KKK on the front was a dead giveaway.

Todays store bought Casper the Ghost costumes have in big letters front and back "Casper the Friendly Ghost."

I wonder how a KKK costume that had "The Friendly KKK" on the front would go over in South Central or the South Side of Chicago ?

Mom Lets Son Wear KKK Halloween Costume, Says It's A Family Tradition

A Virginia mother let her 7-year-old son wear a Ku Klux Klan costume this Halloween because, she insisted, it's a family tradition.

"My brother has [worn it] when he was in Kindergarten and when he was 13," Black said. She went on to claim there is nothing wrong with the costume or with the White Supremacist group, which she says still exists in their Virginia town. "It's supposed to be white with white, black with black, man with woman and all of that. That's what the KKK stands for."

Seriously?....seriously!!....seriously

How stupid do you have to be to not get that this is, at the very least, a really really bad idea for your child's Halloween costume? For all those folks out there who claim that racism is dead....ummmmmmm....no.

Well I could point out that this is the state that just elected the anti-Christ to be its Governor :nails

--or--

I could tell you a coincidental story. I just happen used to be buddies with someone from Craigsville, Virginia, who was black and even he was vocally racist against blacks. It apparently is a very weird hole in the wall. Another buddy who went home with him one weekend came back with this strange story. Apparently two families down the road got into an hour long gun battle in which nobody was injured because one family did not like that members of the other family were hunting not on, but just "too close" to their land when the other family was on their very own land. The friend from Craigsville said this was a common occurrence between the two families--they just made sure they were far enough from each other when they did it as to not hit anybody. I can only assume that there is some gravitational anomaly in that area that accounts for such things going on.

I didn't think he was OD. I just thought "what the heck" and started typing. Thought his post was a good one to make my point with.

BTW, I saw this on LiveLeak, and the story you posted was watered down for the public. This family is a walking billboard for birth control, if not just plain sterilization. (kill it before it breeds!!!!)

That's hysterical. My boyfriend and I made pretty much the same comment. Unfortunately, they can't be stopped.

Oh, that's just lovely.

In before some conservatives starts screaming about the "race card" in 3 ... 2 ...

Post it and they will come......as you predicted K, kindly reference post #18 ( he would scream race baiting at a KKK protest)

lol, what larger lesson should I take from this: there are trashy racist in rural Virginia? Oh geeze, say it ain't so~!!!

Aside from the usual facepalm, I on a much lesser level felt compelled to admonish the writer for this:

It's been quite the Halloween season for offensive costumes.

Because of social media and blogs, right? I mean, there's no chance that dumbasses and assholes roam the streets every year, making this a statistically irrelevant year. No, no, because stuff shows up on blogs and stuff, it's totally more prevalent and serious.

You called it a race baiting thread then you said they were racists....which is it?

I had the same reaction to that line in the article.

why would you assume the two are mutually exclusive? You could very well cite some dumb-ass from Rural Virginia being a racist while making a bigger deal about it than it actually is. Yes, racists exists, and?

:doh.....

My reaction is stronger than most, because for the most part I think bloggers can be shut down the invisible internet tube and we would have lost maybe 5 good writers at most (most of whom have day jobs in the mainstream press anyway).

Then when I saw that it was some 20-something looking gal, I wanted to shake the little turd into reading a god damned book and pull her away from her cell phone.

But I digress on the insanity of 21st century journalism.....

The key word is 'friendly'.

No average American could dislike anyone who is 'friendly', Except, maybe, the friendly IRS.

Just to point out something. No one has said racism is dead. What is said is institutionalised racism is dead, and in the US it is for all practical purposes. HUGE difference.

Wrong.

Lots of people have said, and continue to say that racism is dead.

It isn't.

Those who say that it is have an agenda, and their agenda is not about equal rights for all.

And who would these "people" be and what is this "agenda?" I think you are exaggerating. No one has said racism is dead, no one. Well except you. Do you have an agenda? PS I was talking about the US by the way. No one cares what someone in Europe thinks.

Are you no one?

You are the only person who has expressed this idea.

BTW, that is just your opinion.

Which I will ignore.

No I am not. Plenty here have expressed it. Institutionalised racism is dead in the US. Please point out even one example of racism by the US government? If you can't, it's not really opinion is it? The fact is people like yourself want to scream "racism" at the drop of the hat and you don't even know what the hell it is. You confuse bigotry, cultural differences and other such nonsense as racism. In the end it just waters down the actual meaning of the word.

So either prove your statement or don't I don't care. My comment however stands as true.

Funny how both times how you ignore the meat or essence of what I am saying to suite your agenda.

Believe whatever you want to believe.

That will have zero effect on the reality that millions of non-White Americans have to live with every day.

Feel like such a costume would really limit your options for trick or treating.

Be it far from a black man who actually lives in the US to have any understanding on racism here.

Did I say anything about Black people?

Please point out where I said you did oh master of the Red Herring? I was pointing out I probably know far more about the suffering of minorities in the US because of racism than you do, period.

I am glad she has the freedom to put her son's safety at risk so she
can make her point.
I think it is a poor choice!
