Mom Lets Son Wear KKK Halloween Costume, Says It's A Family Tradition

Well at least you admit, that based on your history, you might be touchy. So does this give you any insight into why black Americans might be a little more "touchy" about racist attitudes and behavior. Think about it.....

Are you black?

Yes, and to whom are they speaking of?

Reading comprehension, it's your friend.

So what do we have? Wallstreet headhunter, hotel manager, attorney, engineer, etc. These are hardly jobs that a 16 year old kid would use. In fact, your own article betrays you

See what happened there? Despite his name, he was able to professionally use another and removed the affect. Hence it's not permanent, doesn't even require you to legally change your name though some have. So what can we take from this? The article is about careers. It talks about HR departments, headhunters, engineers, etc. We're not talking McDonald's employee. None of this is permanent, it can all be changed with a name change. So there's nothing there also.

So what's the most likely answer here? Not that un-American names may suffer in the career department and you should consider the professional name you use, because we see that this just takes the knowledge that it exists and then individuals can overcome it. It's that this particular case has a name YOU don't like and you're trying to find any excuse under the sun to hold everyone to your ideals of what names should be.

But it's not Dicatatorship of Haughty, it's America and people have freedom of choice and that extends to their kids. They can name them Sky or Moon Unit or Twist O'Lemon if they want. We don't need a preapproved list as you would subject us to. If, in the future, those individuals may encounter difficulties because of their names, they can change them or go by something else. That's it.

So stow the thought control because thought control is well more damaging to us as a whole than some individuals with unique or crazy names.

All that nonsense to invent some right to make your kids into social pariahs? Sorry. It doesn't exist.

How is that relevant? (not being snide)

It's relevant, because you keep going on about it like you have first hand experience.

Plus, the only thing more stupider than a black person trippin' over faux racism, is a white person trippin' over faux racism.

I hope that was intentional

Glad to see you couldn't actually address anything taken from your own source and had to resort to deflection arguments. You don't get to control people's thoughts, sorry.

Of course it was

More better, more worser, more hotter, you get the picture. Just local coloquilisms (I probably spelled coloquilism wrong but I don't give a ****, now answer the question)

That's just you playing your expired anti-Democratic Party card.

The fact that close to 100% of Blacks vote for the Democratic Party Should tell you something.

If it doesn't you have a problem.

Touched a nerve I see. Yes it tells me they get to pay for Obamacare.

I don't blame you; I would try to distance myself from racists democrats too. Deflecting is a well known democrat strategy.

Personal responsibility, not so much.

It's not controlling their thoughts if the effects have a measurably negative effect. Which as you refuse to admit, they do. So Ikari, do parents have a right to make their children into social pariahs? Yes or no?

This story does not warrant national news. Just the media race baiting as always.

you made a total non-sequitur and the fact that you think of it as some high mark in wit doesn't bode well for any potential off-spring.

THATS BIGOTRY!

I married a white woman.
Wow congrats good for you

It was my intention since I was old enough to find the opposite sex attractive to marry a white woman.

I dated plenty of women from other races, cultures, and backgrounds.

Asians, Asian Indians, Black women, you name it.

But I always figured I'd marry a white one.

And I did.
Oh my god! So cool!

She's an immigrant from Ecuador, so clearly not Buffy the WASP, but she's as white as you or I.

That doesn't say a damn thing about how I feel about women, or people in general, of other races.

It doesn't say a damn thing about how I feel about men, or those who choose to pursue same-sex relationships.

I have no doubt that I'm just as progressive as you are when it comes to the rights of racial minorities and LGBTQ people.

I expect them all to be treated equally, and no differently than I would be treated.
Good for you!

If she would have gone farther and said that lynching African Americans is good, or that same-sex couples should be driven from the neighborhood at the point of a pitchfork, or that her kid shouldn't have to trick-or-treat with Mexicans, then yeah, sure, bigotry.
When she basically says she has no problem with the KKK or only thinks whites should marry whites and blacks should marry blacks thats bigotry.

As long as they're leaving other people alone, not discriminating against, persecuting, or hating on other people, then I fail to see the bigotry.
When she has "no problem with the KKK" and the KKK's main purpose is to "hate on other people".....

I made a connection that apparently bothers you. Now you feel the need to insult me.

This from the guy who refers to himself as a "conspiratard." News flash: the world isn't flat and Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone gunman.

I guess the anxiety meds aren't working today. You should probably try to get out more often.

Not beyond the stupidity of the entire thing

Now you feel the need to insult me.

No, just pointing out it doesn't speak well for you

Ize just cried~!!!

No, I just got a new script of zoloft. Life is good

Easy to say when you're not the target. How dismissive and insulting a comment. You are certainly free however, to make comments and tote around an attitude of dismissiveness if you like. It's your prerogative to ignore and/or attempt to diminish things that make you uncomfortable, but I prefer to call them out.

Oh believe me, I've been the target of many extremely insulting gestures. And from my experience, you can either ignore the person and deny them the attention that they desperately crave. Or you can validate them by continuing to fuss about it.

Really? You are going to reduce statements in opposition as "fussing"....how old are you?

Are you trying to imply that College is old? Young? Not sure... that term has been around a long long time....

Honestly it is something I have wondered for a long time.

Mom Lets Son Wear KKK Halloween Costume, Says It's A Family Tradition

A Virginia mother let her 7-year-old son wear a Ku Klux Klan costume this Halloween because, she insisted, it's a family tradition.

"My brother has [worn it] when he was in Kindergarten and when he was 13," Black said. She went on to claim there is nothing wrong with the costume or with the White Supremacist group, which she says still exists in their Virginia town. "It's supposed to be white with white, black with black, man with woman and all of that. That's what the KKK stands for."

Seriously?....seriously!!....seriously

How stupid do you have to be to not get that this is, at the very least, a really really bad idea for your child's Halloween costume? For all those folks out there who claim that racism is dead....ummmmmmm....no.

Stupid people do stupid things. Some people should not be permitted to procreate.

I have to question your age as well, since you seem pretty intent on making this as big of a deal as possible. I'd say you should go back to my original statement. What I said was, the entire town has already shunned her and her actions have already been denounced by just about everyone, including the town she is from. In my ideal world, the story would stop there. Everyone would just shun her and get on with their own lives. My fear is that everyone just feels the need to keep beating a dead horse, and in the process all we are really doing is validating her actions (in her mind).

What are you referring to here?

My fear is that everyone just feels the need to keep beating a dead horse
What exactly is the dead horse here

and in the process all we are really doing is validating her actions (in her mind).
how would she perceive any of this as validating her actions?
