A Boy Scout leader who came under fire for pushing over an ancient boulder in a national park filed a suit last month claiming he was suffering permanent "disability" and "impairment" from an auto accident four years ago.

Glenn Taylor initially faced scrutiny after a video of him pushing over a Jurassic era rock formation in the Goblin Valley State Park in Utah went viral.

Taylor, a Boy Scout leader, told ABC News that he should have handled the incident differently but thought the boulder was dangerous and thought it would be safer to push it over.

"The Boy Scouts didn't teach me to do this," Taylor told ABC News. "Would I do it again? Yes, with a ranger standing there. That's what we should have done."

Charges Possible For Toppled Ancient Utah Rock

However Taylor is now facing additional scrutiny after it was revealed that he filed a suit claiming he has he endured "great pain and suffering, disability, impairment, loss of life" stemming from a 2009 car accident, according to ABC News affiliate KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 Karma's a bitch, yes?

I can't wait for the replies that defend this guy.

On what basis would anyone defend him? He's a cretin for harming the rock formation and just plain stupid for doing it after filing for disability.

I gave pretty much a similar scenario a few days ago and couldn't believe the defense that idiot got.

I have an idea. Since he might topple onto someone, we should keep pushing him down, just to be safe.

I classify kids and teens who go around vandalizing crap just for the fun of it to be punks.
He - is just a punk.

They all were.

People - just random people - don't get to make that 'we need to do this for safety reasons' judgment call. That's what the park service is for, they're trained in such issues and are the ones to trigger landslides and other disasters to minimize human catastrophe without causing too much hard.

Joe Punk doesn't get to do this, that's not his job.

Well, that's the first time I've ever heard of a dead person suing anyone before.

I've seen some pretty asinine defenses of pretty much indefensible things here.

The sad part, is this asshole's probably going to win.

Any good socialist or commie would have pushed it over to keep it from falling on some innocent neo-Nazi American.

It stood there safely for a few million years till that idiot came along.

If a kid could push it over it obviously needed to be pushed over. Perhaps not by the kid without prior permission but that's another question. When the tea bagger influence started to take over all that was sane and good about America these sort of infrastructure problems started to crop up more and more. Don't try to excuse them for their own lack of social responsibility toward their own citizens. When their bridges start to fall down it will be of their own making. Not because some citizen drove a heavy truck over one of them.

When I was young ...way back in the 1950's.
I was taught a saying when vacationing and visiting parks.
Only take pictures.
Only leave footprints.

The parks are for all to enjoy ...and for no one to destroy.

Good catch...I was wondering about the " loss of life " part also.

I didn't realize that boulder safety was such a political issue.

But you're right. The Boy Scouts are known for being such a progressive institution! :lamo
