    And it was overdue..
If you're truly concerned about unnecessary waste's of money, there are plenty of other raindrops far larger.
If he'snuckingfutz cared about the TAD, he'd look at the 24 billion flushed into the shutdown sewer .

as an aside,Sen Lautenberg was worth 60 million bucks.... let's not believe his widow was really needing the 175 grand we had to make a big deal about giving her.

You can blame the bloated, civilian bureaucracy that you can blame for that, along with the unions, because very few of those contraters are non-union.

No, she certainly doesn't need it. But why should she be less deserving of it, if it's a tradition for all other widows?

Well, the Republicans caved in and ran away with their tails between their legs over the budget negotiations. The stupid idiots allowed the Continuing Resolution debate to be combined with the Debt ceiling debate...morons.

But thats not the reason I posted this. It looks like McConnell's home state is getting a special present out of all this.

A damn project that was slated to get $775,000,000 of Federal monies somehow got bumped to $2,918,000,000.

No wonder McConnell was so gung ho to pass the deal...screw our budget, Kentucky is getting $3 Billion for a project originally slated to get $775 Million. I wonder if the Contracting company that is building the damn is any kin, friend or large campaign donor of McConnell's.

And we wonder why the country is in the economic shape it is in.
Hey, McConnell is in a tight race next year. One could even call it a toss up at this point. Maybe he thinks the dam will be enough for him to win his re-election bid.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

my pops worked in Aerospace for quite a while... the B-1 program, C-5 program, and hte B-2 program.
Aerospace, while one of my favorite industries ( I love me some planes), is rife with bloat, waste and fraud.... everybody knows it, nobody does anything about it.

because she is part of the 1% you hate. she is in the very group you so desperately want to redistribute their wealth. do you know how many poor families could be fed with 175 grand? but I guess because her husband was a democrat she is immune to the hate and the redistribution of her wealth

Well maybe if Lockheed Martin got off its collective tailpipe and got to work maybe they would not need to waste so much time and money.

Maybe if we let Boeing have a shot at producing more of its joint strike fighter prototype, then maybe Lockheed would appreciate the urgency of the matter
