Former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, driven from office by sexual harassment allegations, was charged Tuesday with felony false imprisonment and two counts of misdemeanor battery involving three women.

The felony count alleges false imprisonment “by violence, fraud, menace and deceit” but does not elaborate on the circumstances.

The victims were identified only as Jane Does.

Filner, 71, resigned in late August, succumbing to intense pressure after at least 17 women brought lurid sexual harassment allegations against the former 10-term congressman. He had been on the job less than nine months into a four-year term and was San Diego’s first Democratic mayor in 20 years.

San Diego County sheriff’s investigators had been interviewing Filner’s accusers and said they would deliver their findings to the attorney general’s office for possible prosecution. The state attorney general’s office confirmed in August that it launched a criminal investigation.

I think he got a little power hungry and felt he could do anything. I think we need to just have a complete reboot of government to help fix problems like these. The best part is that he is not even going to jail. just probation.

Yes. What difference does it make? How do his completely apolitical actions reflect on his political party? Are we really going to play that game, because I can dredge up many incidents of conservatives and Republicans' sexual indiscretions.

Learn how to use google, or read a book sometime. Samuel Kent was a judge; the rest of them are all Republican members of Congress who were embroiled in sex scandals.

Just because you're too ill-read to know who they are doesn't mean they don't exist, or they weren't Republicans, or that their indiscretions don't count if we're keeping score, as you apparently are.

Elitist feel control over others because they feel you can point out a spelling error, making you superior. The fact that elitist feel superior, better than thou, thus an elitist, makes an elitist in my eyes very small. Because I really don't give a **** how smart one is, what their social status is, or what financial resources they have or how ****ing superior they think they are. Obama is a perfect example of a dumber than thou elitist.
