They've taken their stand, they should stand their ground, until such time as serious action is taken to address their concerns and the debt ceiling and funding issues are solved at least through the 2014 election when the people will once again have a chance to express their opinion on the actions of congress.

I'm curious - do the liberal apologists here on DP not see the hypocrisy of Democrats, including Obama, moaning and groaning that the US will implode if the debt ceiling isn't raised, yet they consistently say no to approving a bill from the House to do so that includes any tweaks to the application of the ACA. In other words, the Democrats and the President are saying that the failed and disasterous ACA, a bill that has been badly received, poorly implemented, and waived for a large segment of the population is more important than the financial well being of the nation.

So I support the Senate Democrats on this. If the GOP wants to negotiate legislation they lost on, then the Democrats must do the same and require tax hikes for the rich, gun control, and so forth.
That's fine with me. I would love to see the reaction at the polls when the Democrats say that the demand gun control or they are shutting the place down.

You mean like the World Bankers and Koch brothers..

What IS their latest bill, jcj, in spite of Heritage Action causing it to be pulled??

You can't have your attack on Obamacare and eat it too.
interesting... I thought you wanted the shutdown to end, not extend it indefinitely with your massive, and idiotic, poison pills... Harry Reid probably things you are an anarchist now.

it's not blackmail... no matter how many times you repeat it, it's just not true.... what' wrong with saying things that are factual and accurate?

let's not pretend Democrats aren't throwing their own lil tidbits into the mix.... the Senate is trying tocancel the Cadillac plan tax in their latest bill( union kickback, yay!)... as well as a few other items from the Democratic party wish list.
the GOP is conceding on a bunch of stuff... but I'm pretty sure the Dems will still default if they don't get everything... that's been their message since day 1, anyways.
