PS After reading that article it sounds like a bunch of punk kids kicked the **** out of some guy and doubt there was much of a political angle behind it. Not to mention, east Harlem is predominately black and latino (over 90%), so it's likely not the type of perp that you managed to cobble together in your head

This story doesn't need to be exploited for ANY gain. There is nothing to gain from this happening. What it does is escalates the Christian/Muslim war.
 
We see ignorance in all aspects of life, community and social order regardless of the political affiliation. The irony of this is Sikh's have fought against Muslims through the centuries in various areas of the world and their religions are vastly different. What I suspect happened was this "mob" saw a turban and immediately thought "Muslim" which is just plain ignorance (stupidity).

I wouldn't say they're vastly different since one of the main cited motivations behind the religions formation was an intentional mixing of Hinduism and Islam, as to unite and appease the communal and sectarian violence occurring in India at the time.

The whole warrior aspect developed much later

Would it just be a bunch of asshole kids causing trouble if they were brown skinned living in say Iraq or Syria and ganged up on a guy with a cross on a chain around his neck. See, when they do something like this over there, its radicals who hate America or terrorist acts fuelled by religious zealotry. But when it's americans its just kids being kids. Except its not. This type of act only fans the flames of tension between the Muslim and Christian world.

How do you figure they are liberals? Is it because they are from New York? Isn't that gross generalization? Is this the same New York that had hundreds if not thousands of people go bad **** crazy about the "Ground Zero Mosque" or was that a different New York?

Your agenda seems to be preventing you from understanding an obvious and easily explained point: That these kids were not likely acting to enforce or further some political goal here, but just some moops out causing trouble.

I have no agenda except seeing the US out of the ME. but these kids attacked a man thinking him Muslim, here in America, that's the point.
 
Well, 110th and Lennox is in Harlem (Central Park North) and it's quite safe to say is majority Democrat. 2000 Presidential election saw 93% vote for Gore, 2004 Election 80% voted for Kerry in Harlem (link: Harlem, NY (New York County) - neighborhood political info - ePodunk) that is by no means proof but just political affiliation of Harlem in the past. That said, I guess its possible that a mob of Republicans jumped on the subway, got off at 110th and Lex, saw the guy and ignorantly beat him up thinking he was Muslim... but that's not very probable. More likely it was just ignorant kids or possibly gang affiliated violence that was spontaneous.
 
Personally, I think the people who did this are just sikh in the head.

The odd thing is I live in the South and grew up with people talking a lot of racial stuff but never acting on it really. A lot of folks I have known from the NY/NJ are pretty overtly racist and really have no problem being confrontational with others for any reason whatsoever. It is kind of white-washed by the media as to Yankeeland. It is why the VRA will die before they ever have to admit racism in Blue States to revive it.

That said, I feel for the guy. I hope he recovers quickly.
 
Hypothetically, was this a bunch of black kids beating up a perceived Muslim? Sound like it was. Certainly Obama wanted to make sure his supporters thought he killed Osama and that's what the attackers were shouting. Maybe they were simply following Obama's lead.

Of course we all know if the victim had been a white Christian, it would never even had made the news.

Not to mention that the people of NYC haven't elected a liberal mayor in the last two decades
