i actually think the Texas supreme court may even rule on this one and allow it.

while the whole state isnt on board yet
    San Antonio
just made some laws/ordinances to protect equal gay rights.

I spent some time in Texas thirty-some years ago. San Antonio is a great town, Houston - I did not like, too many wannabe cowboys there when I was there.

actually yes even IN texas they are still legally married. Texas does not recognize their marriage to be legal on a state level but they are legally married. Even more so now with the fall of DOMA and the IRS recognizing this also granting tax rights for all those legally married no matter where they reside.

and thats the point of my op, this is the stuff that is going to help achieve equality eventually and end discrimination on this front.

I actually have some friends and family members there. Some of the are gay and while they say there is definitely a gay scene there (clubs and stuff) and very friendly gay areas the bigotry and pure hate from SOME is actually scary and disturbing at time.

Texas does not recognize same sex marriage...their marriage is not valid in Texas.
if they were legally married , according to Texas .. then they could be divorced, legally, in Texas.

I don't know how to say it any clearer.

I don't like San Antonio or Houston.... or Dallas for that matter.

I like Austin ( not the government, though)... and I like the rural areas outside of Austin even better ( that's where I live)

despite the cries of lots of non-texans, nobody around here seems to give a **** about SSM... except for the hippies in Austin who think it's the most important issue ever to face us.

how to say it more clear would be to say it in a accurate way

their marriage IS factual valid IN Texas but Texas doesnt recognize it

do other states still consider them married while in texas? yes
can the file taxes as a married couple while IN taxes? yes

the church just down the road from me just had a big float in the Pride parade in Austin..... they tried to give me a bunch of t-shirts for doing the welding on the frame.

I haven't seen any protests against same sex marriage ....or any vocal opposition , for that matter... not in public anyways.
