Really, that's what is happening here. Texas rightfully recognizes the fact that by definition, marriage is only between a man and a woman. These two are not married, and that is what makes getting a divorce so difficult. They don't need a divorce. They just need to sort out one person's stuff from another, move into separate homes, and be done with it.
but yet the fact remains they are legally married

And the United States Supreme Court has the right to throw any of those Texas laws that it determines to be unconstitutional in the trash can.

Why put yourselves in this predicament unless you have ulterior motives or zero forethought.
You'd have to ask them. I can't explain that one.

yep and you just called what is eventually going to happen in the future. maybe not this case but its coming.

i actually think the Texas supreme court may even rule on this one and allow it.

while the whole state isnt on board yet san Antonio just made some laws/ordinances to protect equal gay rights.

Don't include this 5th generation Texan in the "we". I voted against the amendment banning SSM in Texas.

Meh, yet more crystal ball gazing idocy. Different states have different divorce requirements. Why do you think folks have popped down to Mexico or over to Vegas for a "quickie divorce" all these years. This won't change a thing. As for this case, they knew the deal when they signed on to one another FOR LIFE. Divorce isn't easy, nor should it be. They'll have to work it out or do the work to end it.
