An interesting question and equally applicable to the Bible. The answer is 'no', because religious books are not meant to be taken literally. Wait... most people don't realize that, hmmmm.

I was explaining the other day how the Tower of Babel is not actually a tower being constructed of inconceivable heights. It's the story of the agricultural revolution, which we scientifically know for a fact occurred at the same place around the same time (~15k ya). Presumably, when man discovered the use of seeds, our population exploded, sending civilized (self sustaining) populations in all directions.

So if you witness a minority being excoriated by, lets say a skinhead, your opinion of freedom is it's the skinhead's right to express his rage and your right to look the other way.
Aren't you glad you live in America?

    CanadaJohn doesn't live in America.

edit: and to answer your question, yes, it is the skinheads' right to express rage, and it's your right to ignore it. If you were outraged by something, would you not want your right to express that opinion preserved?

I think you summed it perfectly too!

Until the skin head does something illegal. Like drive an incinendry device with thousands of flammable liquid soaked books down the highway. THen bust him. I am glad I live in a country where the skinhead can have his say, but cannot physically harm anyone.

Oh please America has comprimised on citizens rights throughout her history! Most recently with the Patriots act.

That's a completely different scenario altogether. Any dumbass can recognize that.

Do you consider yourself to be a debater? Quoting the dead and using ad hominem does not make a debate.

That is because the federal government has grown exponentially and have overreached their boundaries. No one would argue that fact. That is why a lot of us are here complaining about our rights to begin with, voting and trying to reach out to our fellow Americans to not tolerate such infringements on ANY of our rights.
