    I can't see this Russia ovation pulling back the bombs from flying if Congress okay's it. Yes Russia just provided Obama a way out but the vote will still have to happen. I can't see Obama coming on TV on Tuesday saying "We've struck a deal with Putin, they're going to secure all the chemical weapons and we can all stand down. False alarm guys!" He can't save face that way internationally or domestically. He's going to have to either run this Russian plan through the UN and put UN troops with Russian troops on the ground to get those chems.

    But then again, is that something Assad would allow? I don't think so especially not when around him he's still in a seemingly protracted civil war. This sounds good on paper but very difficult to pull off.
    I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

    Moderates can assemble a transitional democratic government. With UN funding, foreign aid and investment projects and no sanctions will be development. Or, Assad can keep buying weapons and screw the people.

    You're very optimistic. Where do you suggest shall these moderates come from?

    Anyway, I don't think any such plan can work without years of foreign full-scale military occupation, and that is neither popular, nor can the West currently afford that.

    Moderates have already been wiped out by al queda types running the "revolution" you seem so eager to jump in and support. I don't care for Assad but this isn't our war. There is no threat to the United States here unless we create one by thumping an ally of mother russia and china. The dictating loser human occupying our white house needs to put his foot squarely in his own mouth, tuck his tail between his legs and walk the hell away. OR IMPEACH HIM
