With this do-nothing House i'd settle for at least an appearance of addressing key issues...

The republicants are have a much better minority block under senate rules so little if any bills or for that matter cabinet nominees are successfully brought before the Senate.

Let us remember one whine the Cons have over ACA, they hold that according to the constitution bills must be passed by the House BEFORE the Senate can consider them.

Right now the Republicants in the House are busy with their own wee sh**ty rebellion. Boehner has all but conceded leadership in the House and now wants the Senate to lead the way... contrary to what his party decried over ACA....
Right this second there are 40 jobs bills passed by the House that Reid has tabled in the Senate. Cry all you want about the ACA votes. They pale in comparison to the inaction and absurdity of the Senate on "key issues".

    Good morning, humbolt.

This administration must be very pleased that we are not discussing "key issues," because those would give them problems! If they can keep us debating on issues other than jobs, the ever-growing debt, the shrinking of the middle class, millions on food stamps, and whether or not life is fair in general, blah, blah, blah, they consider their agenda successful. When important issues rear their ugly heads, there's always some other fluff issue to be thrown into the ring to distract people from what is important. Maybe they're right in their assumption that most are just too stupid to notice.

How does that saying go??? Something about those who forget history... they are usually covering their political lean's crap like a cat in a litter box!

It doesn't matter what you or I think qualifies as 'lawlessness'.... You can bet your Willard/Wonk in 2012 bumper sticker if there was ANY hint of an impeachable offense the 'Cants would be all over it like flies on poop.

    It is just wolf whistling.

(FYI there is a wide gap between laws I'd like to see walked back and 'lawlessness' )

Agreed. We're forever discussing social issues these days. This is just like skipping dinner every night and moving directly to dessert. Might taste great, but it's not the stuff that's best suited for one's well-being. We all would love for race, gender, religion, and all other social problems to be solved as much as that's possible. It is more pressing, however, to address the first things - jobs, the economy, international tensions - the things only government can do - not the things we'd like for them to do that they probably can't, anyway. I've never known of a government that can change the nature of the human heart.

You will have to put the jobs part in quotes as few outside the Con lean saw them as that. That is like saying the 30 repeal votes passed and the Senate never took them up.

Boehner himself has flipped the script from what they pass to number they don't pass...

The same argument can be made from the opposing viewpoint. Few outside the liberal lean see the ACA as affordable at all, and care seems to be the last thing the legislation addresses.

Great post! Probably since man walked the earth, there have always been those who feel they deserve more than they have. Until recently, they usually buckled down and tried to change their circumstances as a matter of personal pride. Now it seems they expect the government to do the job for them, and since they still don't feel they have everything they feel they "deserve," they constantly demand more. What a crock! I guess that's their justification for stealing? Don't they ever stop to think that maybe most of us don't have everything we want either? This is total : and it's disgusting!

    What violations?

Why thanks, Pol. We should, all of us, consider and choose very carefully what we truly want, and then pursue it. It's the knowledge and wisdom gained in the pursuit which is more often the most valuable in the end. In this I can speak from experience. Our culture has become incredibly shallow and we act more and more like children fighting over toys every day. Getting the most while offering the least is not a wise course.
