This rumor started via a chain email comparing Obama's "$102,000 dog trainer" to a Navy Seal's salary. No source was included. A book on Amazon stated that this "$102,000 dog trainer was always on call, and always flew alone with the dog." No sources were cited, and later Amazon had to clarify that the dog did not fly alone, but flew in a jet with other aides and staff when the presidential party took two small jets rather than Air Force One.
The person identified in that 2010 book was Reggie Love, personal aide to Obama from 2009 to 2011. Reggie Love's salary was $102,000 per year.
And here we are three years later with completely uninformed people yelling, "Oh yeah? What about the $102,000 dog handler taxpayers have to pay for???"
