It kind of rings true to me - I've often felt the more power I have in a situation, the less stress I feel.
Having power may be a great stress reducer, but being in charge can keep you up nights. I'm sure that there are exceptions, but most people do wind down as they age. A long distance runner might love what he does, too, but still isn't likely to be winning any races at the tender age of 70 or so.

But, no doubt, there are exceptions.

People are living longer now, particularly people with superior health care such as a sitting President would get, and I think most Presidents don't show their age in office but once out of the limelight and no longer in control they start to deteriorate if they can't find some way to replace that power in their lives.

Bottom line, for me, Romney's not running again but his age wouldn't be a contributing factor at all - he's one of the healthiest looking late 60s guys you'll ever see. His wife's health and his having done his part are more likely to keep him out.

Yes, but in this internet driven age, I don't see that happening. Romney would be forced to deal with everything in his 2012 campaign as well as a GOP primaries and 2016 presidential election. I don't see that happening, the odds just are too much I think.

Who is better suited for the job on the GOP side?
    Rubio, no.
    Paul, no.
    Bush, no.
    Christie, no.
    Perry, no.
    Santorum, no.
    Ryan, no.
I say no to all for various reasons, but none of them can beat Hillary.

Well, with a billion in free advertising, Hillary will be a force. A warehouse load of nasty baggage in her name may not be enough to undo her questionable qualifications.

I expect the 2016 race to be run by two people whose names have not been mentioned on this thread. Who they are, I don't know, and I doubt anyone else does either at this point.

If we knew, they'd be mentioned!

Yeah...I agree...he seems to be in superb health.

I'd be less surprised if Christie ran against Hillary in the democrat primary than I would to see Romney run again.

    Doubtful.
3 years is not enough time to mount a run from zero.
