Leaked docs: SOD squad feeds NSA intelligence to drug enforcement plods

Leaked docs: SOD squad feeds NSA intelligence to drug enforcement plods

The report comes from the UK (of course....because the US media doesn't have the balls to cover it).

Leaked documents have revealed the existence of a Special Operations Division (SOD) within the Drug Enforcement Agency that receives and distributes tips gleaned by the NSA to arrange arrests, and then hides where that information came from.
Law enforcement agents said that the practice was not uncommon in drug cases. Often a suspect will plead guilty and there's no need to examine evidence in court, but in some cases where the defendant has fought their corner, legal actions have been dropped rather than expose SOD to public scrutiny.
I'd sure like to see those leaked documents because if this is going on then the federal government has a WHOLE LOT of explaining to do.

    The solution is right there.

Advertise that cases are dropped to protect the source and more drug dealers will take their cases to trial in hopes of having their cases dropped.

Increased case loads will be expensive and cause backups, leading to defendants refusing to waive their right to a speedy trial, another way out.

    Serve the bastards right.

That would just be the tip of the iceberg.

If the NSA is leaking information for criminal prosecutions then that opens the door for subpoenaing that information for civil actions as well. Imagine family court with ALL the dirty laundry exposed.
