Politico: House GOP takes another cut at food stamp bill

really?, and becuase they pay more in taxes, they also get more representation.

CA in the house has about 54 representatives. NY 27

WY has 1 representative.

actually is it a fact that political representation in the house of representatives depends on the states population.

I would rather delve into the question of where the father might be, and why society is not concerned about it...
Society is concerned about it and law makers have passed laws forcing dead beat dads to pay child support. But in this economy with 11.5 million still unemployed a lot of fathers don't have jobs. What does society intend to do about that?

Why, so we can watch people beg for food on every corner?

sort of, yes.

I wouldn't go on the corner to do it. I would visit churches and other places to seek out aid.

"Life is not fair." --JFK

Every American is responsible for himself/herself.:peace

Well to put this post into context, JFK was someone whose parents essentially help him buy a Senate seat (using money of which a significant portion was, shall we say, obtained using less-than-aboveboard means) and then rode that all the way to the Presidency with little to no experience in much of anything.

Fair enough, but it doesn't change the discussion.:peace

During hard times, churches and charity organizations don't have a lot of money to spend on charity either.

That's why families are so important to societies...

forced charity is a poor solution.

When a state counts illegal immigrants as US citizens they are getting more representation than they deserve. And it's usually the rural states....

forced charity is a poor solution.
So is forced poverty.

I wouldn't help the poor unless it benefitted me to do so. I benefit if the poor have clean water and sewage disposal because helps prevent disease from spreading. I benefit if they have health care for the same reason. I benefit if their children are healthy and get an education so they can get a job later instead of turning to crime in order to steal what they can't earn or end up in prison paid for by my taxes. I care what kind of country I live in and if my country doesn't give a damn about it's own people then why should I care about my country?

great. but forcing other people to act as you would is bad policy.

forced charity is wrong.

so your saying CA, keeps it 53 NY 27 and the states you have your eye on, should have their representatives reduced?
