Re: Did obama just blame the economy on race

From the quote I provided. If you are able to imagine the word "compete" means violence it's a result of not getting what he wants, and he does not call that wrong in anyway. Just how else is "compete" implied when discussing racial groups?

Seems like you're totally begging the question on this one, and even with injecting "violence" in there and clearly changing the meaning and context of the quote, the idea that it was a threat still seems tenious at best.

Not to mention, "compete" as it is used in the quote provided" seems more about conveying the idea that when people are struggling over the same shrinking resources, that they develop a habit of breaking things down into an "us vs them" mentality.

Which, again, is hardly a revolutionary idea

Well, calling it wrong seems a little unnecessary and pointless. Being that it's how groups of people react, regardless how we feel about it and it's something we need to recognize. So pontificating on the morality of it is a rather pointless waste of time, especially when it's objectionable nature is rather obvious.

Just how else is "compete" implied when discussing racial groups?
In many ways besides violence. Just like if I wrote "people compete for the same limited resources"

Youv'e missed the point. Under Obama racial tensions have gotten worse and so has unemployment numbers for blacks

Since he did not admonish violence as wrong his presentation could well condone it. You seem to project its just common sense that isn't so, and I disagree. I think he is saying to his opponents don't my way or else. His ultimatum holds no limits, outside the word compete and again I ask how does a minority group, in fiscally poor status, going to compete if not with protest, violence or both?

What has he done to make you think he condones racial violence, in anyway?

His administration condoned Op Wall Street. The DOJ investigates Zimmerman but not the Seattle Shipyard Union that held security guards against their will while damaging a ship yard, and look at the cool settlement with the new black panthers over voter intimidation efforts in 08 by this admin.

that struck me as political more than a condoning of racial violence

2 were racial and 2 economic so I think it's a rational presentation on topic here.

Pretty much just stating the obvious
In my view, this President thrives on fostering the "us vs them" mentality. He's not stating the obvious, he's stating his political strategy.
