Who the hell is Desmond Tutu?

I've always been opposed to homosexuality - not my cup of tea however I've never understood gay hate or the anti-gay radicalism..

OK, people are gay, just don't shove your gayness in my face and everything will be cool.

The better question to ask is why anyone needs to shove any issue in anyones face?

There are plenty of single issue idiots out there that don't give a **** about anything but their single issue and I wish they would all just shut the **** up.

Calling out sin as sin is neither self-righteous or wrong. Stating the truth according to his religious following is part of freedom of religion.

It depends on how they're doing it..

If they're aggressive towards me I will knock them out - as I would any individual that is aggressive towards me.

I don't go out and look for trouble but many single issue idiots do.

He received the nobel peace prize. the same nobel peace prize Obama won. The nobel peace prize is the least prestigious of all Nobel prizes really. It's been bastardized beyond belief. You literally have to do nothing to earn it in most cases.

But anyway. I'm not discounting him as a human being. I'm sure he's a good guy and means well. I am discounting him as a public figure of any particular influence. What he says is of no relevance. Or should be of no relevance. If you choose to invest this man with your confidence, and make his words mean something to you, fine. But don't expect the same from the rest of us who don't care what desmond tutu has to say about anything because by default, he's irrelevant.

I suppose we're all different in one way or another - why should we have to promote our differences as a species?

I don't feel any need or any want to throw my differences in anyones face in an attempt to justify my life.

These "gay pride" folk are assholes and IMO are doing nothing more than stigmatizing gays...

I'm sure there are many gay people that would agree with me.

Regardless though, those points have no bearing when it comes to the fact that Biblically speaking, homosexual sex is a sin and will be judged by God as a sin, what humans think about it is irrelevant because the law is absolute.

We can agree that the Nobel Peace Prize has been cheapened in recent years. Tutu was awarded it, however, in 1984. Now he is 82, retired, and more opinionated in the way old men often are--and are perhaps entitled to be, even if you disagree with his opinions.

I find it strange that because I stated the obvious, that Tutu’s opinions do have influence on many, you assumed that I have "invested this man with my confidence."
 
That's Tutu on being on the wrong side of where a pastor should be. What do you call a priest who would choose Hell under any circumstances? ;)

Well they shouldn't have influenced anyone by default. In a sane world he should have no influence and no authority. I assume that you, by riding to his defense, agree with him or at least consider him as an important person. I don't.

Sexuality infers there's a human body but I don't think anybody takes these bodies with them to heaven? All of those kind of problems get buried in a grave or cremated.

I don't disregard the fact that he meant what he said. that he would rather go to hell than a homphobic heaven. I just disregard his notion of homophobic heaven and don't give any weight to his statement.

Disagreement is freedom.

The democrats/RINO's want consensus - they want blind zombies that adhere to their demands and the acceptance of homosexuality without objection certainly is a bonding agent...
