We're talking about the zero tolerance rules for schools in regards to toy guns, pretend shooting, etc...who the hell is talking about murder?!?

Thats exactly what this does. The bill being proposed is "get rid of these stupid zero tolerance laws (regarding kids playing fake gun games, making fake guns out of other objects, nerf or toy guns, t-shirst, etc) or lose your funding."

You didn't specify, you just said "zero tolerance rules". There are lots of zero tolerance rules that are perfectly fine, there's no reason to be against all of them, just the idiotic ones.

    I find that perfectly acceptable.

I didn't specify because the topic of the thread is the zero tolerance laws schools use to condition kids to think guns of any kind including fake ones are bad. Thats the sole purpose of these rules to begin with.

Personally, I'd lose my friggin mind and consider a lawsuit if this happened to one of my kids.

I wouldn't consider it, I'd file one immediately, not only against the school district and school, but against all of the teachers and administrators involved personally.

More to the point, I think, is this. The job of schools is to educate children. The money that the federal government gives to schools is to be used for this purpose—educating children.

Brainwashing and indoctrinating children is not educating them. In fact, it runs counter to the purpose of educating them. To accept money that is supposed to be used for one purpose, in exchange for supposedly fulfilling that purpose, and then to use it instead to carry out an opposing purpose, is fraud and malfeasance.

If you take your car in to get the oil changed, you pay for an oil change, and instead of changing the oil, they break the windows and scratch the paint, and return the car to you this damaged, and still with the same oil that it had in the first place, did they legitimately earn the money that you paid them for an oil change?

That is what schools are doing that accept money from any source for the purpose of educating children, and then instead use it to engage in this sort of brainwashing and indoctrination.

Obviously these schools put these regulations into place for a reason, it seems odd for the government to interfere with the school, because each individual school knows best.

So school suspending a kid for making a gun out his hand playing a game or bringing in a little toy or wearing a t-shirt is the "school knowing best?" Do you honestly believe that?

Yes, i do. Who knows how much that could escalate. It's ridiculous that the state holds the power to force schools into whatever they want simply because of the need for funding. Honestly why does it matter if kids can or cannot make a gun out of their hand, they're at school, not in a play or not in a shooting range, there is no need for that in a learning environment.

Can't allow those pop tart guns. That stuff is dangerous.
