If that is so (it's not even close to the truth, it is in fact total fiction), you would have to say it's way past time for the 47% that don't pay any income taxes to step up and pay at least some, right? That's a huge part of the population that has no incentives except to expect government to do more and more for them at no cost to them.

You mean get the elderly on Social Security and the people with hardly any income to pay more?

Don't think that makes a whole lotta sense.

Many Trump supporters have lots of problems, and those deplorables are bringing those problems to us. They’re racists. They’re misogynists. They’re islamophobic. They're xenophobes and homophobes. And some, I assume, are good people.

If you mean give everyone raises so they pay taxes again I would applaud that. But taking tax money from those that spend it all in the economy would be economic suicide as all that money would come right out of GDP. That's why we tax income NOT spent at higher rate, it's those top 5% who sock away nearly all their income that are a drag on the system. Raising taxes on them will not affect their spending only their hedge fund contributions.

So then all the matters is whether YOU agree with the issue.

the House hasn't done its job in over five years ... Is Boehner suggesting that they plan to start now?

Do you have anything to add to these discussions besides rhetoric?

not only can I, this in fact was not rhetoric ... your inability to tell the difference should not be placed on my shoulders jonny ... let's be fair now ... from the beginning GOP Reps/Sens decided to do everything they could to prevent the president from succeeding instead of doing the people's work ... McConnell even said that their number one goal was to defeat the president, not to fix the economy, create jobs, etc. ...

I know that one of the plays in the con playbook is to paint people in a certain way to try to discredit them ... for example, the president is a Muslim, he's Kenyan, he wasn't born here, etc. ... you guys do it with other posters, as you're trying to do with me here ... since we're buddies, just a heads up that you're wasting your time with me ..

By rhetoric, I assume you mean the definition of insincere speech designed to move an audience.

But the post was spot on. The Houses main goal is to obstruct, because the majority caucus is too dysfunctional to do anything but that. That's why they repeatedly pass bills repealing Obamacare and budgets that are designed to go nowhere.
