I am an alcohol (weekend) partier, and do not use marijuana because I don't enjoy it. That is my disclaimer, because I am about to assert that alcohol is generally far more harmful than marijuana, especially for interpersonal interactions. I so assert.
Now, I have a question: Do you hire drinkers? That is, do you test for it, or even ask candidates?
I have been around partying almost my whole life, but especially since about 14. I am far older than that, now. It has been 20 years since I used marijuana for recreation. I feel that I have a good grasp from experience of the effects on people, how habit forming substances are, and I have read extensively on the subject area. Before I was knowledgeable, I used certain drugs which I would not use ever again, now. It has been 16 years ago now since I have used those drugs. From this experience and knowledge, I honestly don't understand people's bizarre treatment of recreational pot users. You seem to scoff at the notion of a 'recreational' user, but would you automatically call a person a "drunk" who says they like a Martini now and then?
Do you speak about these things from long experience? I ask because if so our experience would seem so far apart. Have you never known a group of people who were strictly recreational in their usage (long term)?
