Rand Paul: Marijuana users lose IQ points and lack motivation

I didn't know you dopers had the mental capacity to form opinions anymore. The communist pot zombies of today seem to be a different breed.
And what about us capitalist pot zombies? Weed isn't just for stinking hippies anymore.

I really like Rand. If he has a chance of getting the republican nomination, I will donate a few thousand dollars to his campaign.

LOL...

Do you realize your implication?

I suppose you also support prohibition...

I would thoroughly enjoy banning anything that remotely causes happiness.

No, I'm sure deodorant wearing hippies partake of the red plant from time to time as well.

It's generally green, and I'm not a hippy of any description. Hippies hate me, though it's kind of mutual :(

Wow...

In this case, I hope you are a troll, rather than being serious.

Weed is one of God's greatest gifts to mankind, and people from all walks of life enjoy it. I'm sorry if you are being excluded.

I would like to go back and remind everyone that Rand said "all the time" in his words, referring to weed. Like most anything in life, moderation is OK.

What sort of communist nonsense is that? High productivity is good if it allows me to make more profit and create more jobs.

More jobs might be good for some people.

More profit might be squirelled away or spent on bling.

Higher productivity only creates more profit if there is a market for what is produced.

Sorry, I thought this thread was meant to be satirical, considering the OP.

I think Danarhea just doesn't understand libertarianism. Do you?

Well, I agree with Rand Paul on this issue even more so than merely politics. I'm not a big fan of mind altering drugs but the Government has neither the ability nor the authority to prevent people from using them if they so choose, regardless on whether I think they're a good idea.

Paul Rand will never see the inside of the White House, except as a visitor.

Like most Republicans. he's on the wrong (Losing.) side of every social issue.

Supporting pot-smoking will not get him elected POTUSA.

His acknowledgement that it isn't worse than alcohol is all he needs. He doesn't need to support it.

What he said was spot on. It should not be criminalized, casual use is not a problem, but "people that use all the time" (IE your typical pothead) are absolutely unmotivated, or rather motivated basically towards nothing but munchies, video games, and the next bowl. The same could be said of people that drink alcohol "all the time" or any other drug use "all the time".

I'm a lazy, forgetful bastard, and I've never done weed in my life.

Weed affects different people differently. Maybe it will make you less forgetful and motivated?

It doesn't matter if I spend it on trying to buy world peace or a new Mercedes. Either way, as long as I'm hiring people and contributing to the economy everyone's a winner.

And if I produce stuff that no one wants, I'll go out of business and someone who's better at their job will take my place. Such is the beauty of free market capitalism :)

Not sure Dr. Paul's evidence, but he has some credentials when it comes to medical marijuana use as marijuana is promoted as a treatment for glaucoma.

As for legality, it should not be legal to smoke it in a public place.

I suppose you support the same ban on smoking cigarettes in public. After all, they are more dangerous to health.

I support legalizing marijuana, but I don't like Rand Paul.

Never smoked it, no desire to and yes, I want a medal.

And you support marijuana smoking in the car I suppose.

I never seen any evidence comparing the health risks of cigarettes regardless of tobacco or marijuana. I don't like being around smoke.
