Why do pro-illegals pretend that the only solution the anti-illegal immigration side has is mass roundup and not only that but pretend it wouldn't work despite operation wetback and Mexican repatriation being good successes?

While a mass round up and mass deportation is feasible since it has been done in the past these ideas would be a far cheaper solution.

Our current policy should be is to encourage illegals to go back to their countries. We can do that by making it nearly impossible for them to live in our country, punishments for those who come here illegally and punishments for scum who hire illegals so they can't get jobs. These few things should suffice-

A.Require that in order to get any ID or driver's license you present a birth certificate, green card, or certificate of naturalization and social security card. After that require a state issued ID or driver's license in order to the following-

    -enroll yourself into school.
-enroll your minor children into school.
-apply for welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing and any other tax payer assistance for yourself and or your children.
-get a business license,fishing/hunting permit, building permit, license to practice law, food handlers permit, gun license(in states that require a permit to buy a gun),concealed carry permit(in states that require a license to conceal carry) or any other tax payer funded service.
-open a bank account, cash a check, use a credit/debit/pre-paid card, apply for a loan,or wire money.
    -rent,borrow,lease or buy property.
-rent,borrow,lease or buy a motor vehicle.
-get legal documents for yourself or your children.
    -get utilities.

B.Crack down on the scum who hire illegals.Treat them no different than we do drug dealers, mobsters and other criminals who profit from illegal activities. We do that by severely fining them, sending them to prison and make them subject asset seizure and forfeiture laws to take any property or money they acquired as a result of hiring illegals(after a criminal has proven them guilty).

    C.Mandate E-verify for every employer.

D.Hire enough border guards to secure the border and make sure they will let anyone who wants to leave the US does so freely. If we can give away billions to other countries then we can most certainly hire enough border guards to secure our border.

E.Repeal part of the Immigration and Nationality act of 1965 that allows for the chain migration of relatives other than spouse or minor children. This would end anchor babies.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    What's happening is disastrous.
The influence of previously amnestied illegals is large enough to have swayed electoral politics in several key states.
So that anyone who speaks against illegal immigration is a 'racist' and can't win a national or large state election. (Tx, Fl, etc)
It's Ironic and Sick that previously (and wrongly) amnestied illegals are so numerous they are the marginal voters on the issue.
    84 senators.
Demography is destiny - ours was deteriorating - now Lost completely.

Enforce criminal laws against that, by throwing some CEOs into jail for hiring illegals, and that will be the end of that. No jobs, and there is no reason for immigrants to come -- they simply can't get social services here.

But since this raises real issues about discrimination against Hispanic Americans, we have to have a powerful e-verify system which is as foolproof as possible In addition, since errors are inevitable, we have to have an expeditious appeal system -- if an e-verify check falsely claims a job applicant is not a US citizen, an immediate appeal should be available to correct the matter in 24 or less.

    That costs money. Funny that.

By the way, this issue will fade in the future since Mexico now has a self-sustaining middle class. We'll never see again the time when millions of workers were fleeing Mexico to come to America. Mexico's economy is strong enough so that they don't have to, not in those numbers.
Just out of curiosity, what does the Mexican government consider "middle class"? Does a "middle class" Mexican live the same life style as a "middle class" American?

Guess he still hasn't figured out that Rubio is not a Tea Partier.....not that such is surprising. Besides I am getting use to his Saturday Nite Live script.

Btw Rubio says this version will be killed in the House. Guess he should know since he is one of the original creators of the Bill.

Course the major problem to the Bill. Is anything that Schumer opened his mouth to throw in his two cents worth.

No, my understanding is that their standard for "middle class" (which I'm using loosely anyway) is much lower than what we mean -- though what we mean is also ambiguous. Most people in this country -- even very poor and very rich people -- classify themselves as middle class.

The point is, the days when millions of Mexicans risked death and injury coming to America to find work are over. It's not that there still won't be illegals looking for work; it's just that the number of people in Mexico who feel the need to do that has diminished significantly and is getting smaller. I hate to admit it, but NAFTA worked.

The only time I ever get snarky is in response to one of your snarky posts.
I have CDO, it's like OCD but the letters are in alphabetical order like they should be.

The America we once knew is already headed down the road of extinction because of politically correct immigration policies that where it's what's best for the immigrant instead of what's best for America.

Remember that it was liberal political correct immigration policies that allowed all of the 9/11 Al Qaeda terrorist to be issued visas to enter America. The 9/11 Commission Report pointed out that it was liberal political correctness that allowed the terrorist to board those four planes on the morning of 9-11-01.

As one high ranking Department of Homeland Security pointed out, it was liberal political correct policies that allowed the Tsarnaev family (Boston Marathon bombers) to be granted an refuge visa and to come to America and suck off $1000,000 of welfare from the 53 % of Americans who actually do pay individual income taxes.
