Yeah, because we all know it's your vagina that does the actual work of raising and nuturing a family.

OMFG, traditional gender roles! Sexist stuff is afoot!

Now, how do you explain how he changed the traditional role of the woman to provider and mother? You didn't notice that did you? The point is that he didn't even use traditional roles.

Btw, why does the job of both genders have to be exactly the same? Are we to believe they all share the same strengths and weaknesses? Why is it wrong to say they should work off each other? Did any of you guys even consider that these roles didn't just come out of a sexist mindset?

The non-working role did come out of a sexist mindset if I recall, but what you are so uptight about did not.

I read what he said, he said you should be "invested" in your children, and that was far more important than anything you can accomplish in your career. He didn't say don't pursue a career. He didn't say to stay home and occupy any gender role. He said being a good mother would make more difference in the world than anything you're likely to do in your career.

The issue is why didnt he also direct this to the men in the audience, he targetted the women because he is still holding on to the traditional household roles.

He also told men that their role in their family was more important than making $1 million. What he told everybody was that their family was the most important thing they would ever do with their lives.

I read what he said too. He not only said everything that you mentioned. He also specifically encouraged women to be stay at home moms and encouraged men to be providers and protectors. That's what I am talking about. Can you address that instead of avoiding it?

And once again we are back around to "what is wrong with suggesting women be stay at home moms?"

After all, our society is so, so much better during the era of women putting careers ahead of family than we were when women raised their children first and worked after. NOT.
Only a fool measures equality by results and not opportunities.

Yeah, my problem is that he didn't tell both the boys and girls in the audience that they could BOTH consider being stay at home parents or being the provider and protector. Had he done that, I wouldn't have a problem because I get the argument that family is important. But when you start encouraging young people to occupy stereotypical gender roles, you become a problem.

The way guys like this fight against women working competitively, that's what they promote. Unfit and unmotivated people taking up a cause that isn't theirs.

But besides that, I said source of worth, not method of execution. Where do babies come from again?
