One of you will end up here next!
But you are Right VM I think they need way more time to work this thru. They can't half ass it and look to throw a bunch of pork in there either.
Ive long believed the answer to illegal immigration is not to have an amnesty program or to step up INS actions, or target illegals for mass deportation (lets be honest...the US is at least AS responsible for the illegal immigration problem as anyone else. We want it, exploit it, and always have). It would be insanity to institute a police where you turn 20 million illegal immigrants into potential terrorists. The country doesnt need the internal strife and its simply not humane. What we SHOULD do and should have been doing is work with the mejican government and their industry to create a viable education system and jobs market there. It would take a substanital private investment with an expectation of limited if any return on the dollar for about 10 years, but after that time, we would have a viable trading partner on at least equal footing and their would be far less a need for illegal immigration in the first place. Throw in a few other relatively minor fixes (such as decriminalizing marijuana) and things would improve in pretty rapid fashion.
I would agree with a lot of what you said there. Course we know it wont happen anytime soon at least. Still Obama and the Demos want to add gay unions to the Bill. What I don't understand is that anytime before.....the Demos never stated anything about such a condition with Immigration. But now they want it included. Course I am not sure how that plays out with Latino People. Many are quite religious.
Still this is the Democrats throwing crap up into the Mix. Which I think they should be set out for. As to creating more of a problem with the issue rather than looking to solve the issue first.
"What difference" "does it make?"
nearly 40 billion away to other countries, we can at least start with that.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"
