I agree! And we should make it retroactive. If you are a descendant of a non-citizen, your citizenship is revoked. Any number of generations.

Where did your ancestors come from, again?

(Id settle for a nice NFL style trade program...We will keep 20 million illegal immigrants that come here willing to bust their ass for any means of employment they can find if in return they accept 20 million of our crippled dependent lazy ****s that wont work and they have to go live in the socialist Utopia that is mejico)
Might as well as Just take over Mexico.....create another 50 states and intro them to our Style and Forms of Corruption. Get them all into some more free stuff and dependent on the government and we are good to go. Course our way or the Highway.

But you are Right VM I think they need way more time to work this thru. They can't half ass it and look to throw a bunch of pork in there either.

It would actually make a lot of sense. We would certainly reduce the size of the border to control.

Ive long believed the answer to illegal immigration is not to have an amnesty program or to step up INS actions, or target illegals for mass deportation (lets be honest...the US is at least AS responsible for the illegal immigration problem as anyone else. We want it, exploit it, and always have). It would be insanity to institute a police where you turn 20 million illegal immigrants into potential terrorists. The country doesnt need the internal strife and its simply not humane. What we SHOULD do and should have been doing is work with the mejican government and their industry to create a viable education system and jobs market there. It would take a substanital private investment with an expectation of limited if any return on the dollar for about 10 years, but after that time, we would have a viable trading partner on at least equal footing and their would be far less a need for illegal immigration in the first place. Throw in a few other relatively minor fixes (such as decriminalizing marijuana) and things would improve in pretty rapid fashion.

I would agree with a lot of what you said there. Course we know it wont happen anytime soon at least. Still Obama and the Demos want to add gay unions to the Bill. What I don't understand is that anytime before.....the Demos never stated anything about such a condition with Immigration. But now they want it included. Course I am not sure how that plays out with Latino People. Many are quite religious.

Still this is the Democrats throwing crap up into the Mix. Which I think they should be set out for. As to creating more of a problem with the issue rather than looking to solve the issue first.

And people wonder why nothing ever gets done. Frankly, I believe the reason dems (and the GOP) add riders to legislation is because they KNOW it will make it impossible for legislation to pass. then they run to the media and point fingers and shriek at 'the other guys'.

Just because we haven't had a bill in a long time and reform since the 80's doesn't meant we need to repeat the failed past and do it again wrong. Are you that desperate for a new voting block?

Yeah.....I wasn't happy that Johnny Quest McCain and Schumer were in on this Bill. Although I can understand McCain being from a Border State. Schumer now.....that putz is nothing but a Waste a Space and nothing but a NY big wig ass kisser.

I think McCain is trying poise himself as a 'statesman'. Or...I dont know...maybe he is changing. It happens. Either way...there really HAS to be some form of immigration reform and it CANT involve mass roundups and deportation. It WONT. And people should come to grips with that reality. I wish the answers werent lost in the politics.

Points for glibness, but they have to be subtracted when you've just made clear your lack of understanding about the "anchor babies" problem.

Enough to get the job done.We give away nearly 40 billion away to other countries, we can at least start with that.

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"
