Sequestration Poll Shows That Nearly 4 In 10 Americans Impacted By Cuts

You must be getting calls from much brighter pollsters than I am. My callers have rigid standards of response and often I can't answer y/n or rate 1/10. There's no room for subtlety and thus I distrust the outcomes.

The "polls" that bother me most are the younger students drug use percentages. I try to imagine asking a 15 year old "have you used cocaine in the last 7 days?" or similar and actually get the response "sure, don't tell my mom". So IMHO they make most of this crap up.

Of course, I could be wrong.

Which is why they interview a large enough number of people to get a statistically accurate sample rather than just rely on a few people who may be biased.

And if a pollster decides that your interview was somehow biased they'll toss it out and replace it with an non-biased interview.

If this is true, why are Obamas approval numbers still so high?

That all depends who's polls your looking at. If you average all of the polls Obama gets a 48.4 % approval rating and a 47.5 % disapproval.

Then you have polls like CNN who also poll illegal aliens. Then there are those who believe if they disapprove of Obama they will be called a racist. Then there's the uninformed and most of them tend to have voted for Obama.

Maybe a better indicator of how Americans approve or disapprove of Obama is this question. Direction of the country. Right direction 31.7 % Wrong direction 59.2 %

In surveys, it is generally up to whoever is being interviewed to determine for themselves using whatever criteria that interviewed person determines for themselves.

Though there could be follow-up questions in which the interviewer asks for specific ways in which they are being affected. It just depends on the individual survey and how it's worded.
Sooooo, how are these 40% being effected then? Kind of a worthless poll if that follow up question wasnt asked. For my part, I have not been effected, nor do i know anyone affected or seen any signs anywhere of any effects of sequestration at all.
