That does not help towards the end of the year. And the bills that I mentioned was just the BARE essentials. We have growing kids that need clothes also, cost of school supplies, telephone so that our work can get ahold of us when needed, gas for the 1 car we have etc etc etc.

The domestic education of doctors would also suffer as a result, once prospective docs start seeing that it is pointless to go to medical school here when they can be beaten out by a foreigner who's educational standards and costs could be far less than their own.
They would still need to pass the licensing tests in the US so lower educational standards is not really an issue, and last time I checked, we cannot outsource patients to India.

A lot of doctors are going to buck out of the system altogether and work completely privately on the side with a shared-cost group of families. My doctor has already discussed it with me, and we're in.

He's working on putting together a network of doctors and specialists to make it work.

Country Club medicine will soon be here.

It's still pretty ****ing expensive. Health insurance premiums should be more along the lines of homeowner's or auto insurance, which means it shouldn't be the same for everyone, but vary depending on the individual's situation and how many claims they make.

I don't consider blogs to be a meaningful source of accurate information. The government can't manage itself and you guys want it to manage your health care? Makes no sense to me at all.

No one said anything about outsourcing patients to India.... The issue is the outsourcing of the doctors. American educated doctors would lose / be beaten out of their jobs if we went with the cheapest, foreign options. With lower educational standards, passing the US licensing test would be quite a task. Medical schools in the US are prestigious and develop great doctors. No one would take on the US med school endeavor if they knew it was for nothing because foreign doctors work for less.

Less doctors / less educated doctors / less people wanting to become doctors = bad

What is ridiculous is that doctors are providing a service of paramount importance to society and are paid a fraction of what thousands of athletes who drop out of college to run around and play with a ball professionally are paid.

I was making the point that he had more than $3k to pay for other things outside of rent. I calculated $1266.5 in FICA and guessed about $624 in federal taxes for that income. That leaves more than $15k, - the rent, leaves over $6k. Not just 3k.

I know plenty of people like to file like S0, and get large refunds. Still, it isn't real to say he is only left with $3k after rent.

So why not change your filing status. Less tax taken out each paycheck... Less refund later...

Let's see if I understand this argument..

If everyone is forced to buy insurance than other people won't have to pay for them therefore we should ignore liberty and make everyone buy insurance.

Hmm..something seems off. What is it?

You don't have the liberty to make others pay for your health care

That's just a right wing whine
