I'll have to check out things here in Canada - I'm surprised that a principle with no ties to a country has tax exempt status in order to raise funds. I don't know much about charitable tax status and how one gets it - this just seems odd.

Malik's charity is based in Virginia. It appears that it only takes a partner that is a citizen and an American address.

Yet again instead of actually going after the problem of political organizations being protected from exposing their donors and that leading to problems like citizens united and this crap we are going to just yell at Obama and hope the problem goes away when he does. Unfortunately this problem does not begin or end with obama. Instead of focussing on the problem we focus on who they truly want to focus on which is Obama. The reality is we should not have political organizations under charity at all. After that gets eliminated then we do not have a problem anymore. No one can abuse something that is not there.
