Jason Richwine Resigns From Heritage Foundation After Dissertation Controversy

Didn't take long for someone to back up the racism!

I do believe they can't help it. They hold it back and hold it back, and then it floods out. The conservative soul in all its xenophobic glory.

You don't really understand the idea of IQ tests do you? Well, that is natural I suppose, for deliciously amusing reasons that will only be accessible to the higher IQ members.

At any rate, a great deal of what we think of as "intelligence" is culturally dependent. This not only refers to the subject, but also to the perception of the subject's intelligence by others, and how the subject's mode of thought meshes with the prevailing culture.

You don't really understand the idea of IQ tests do you? .

So what is the "idea" of IQ tests? Please try to be as concise and lucide as possible in your response.

Not at all. We understand the Democrat's appeal to low IQ voters.

Why do poor white voters reject the Democrats? Well, why shouldn't they? | Gary Younge | World news | guardian.co.uk

Such news is generally greeted on the left by a mixture of despair and ridicule. Here is a group of people, it seems, who simply do not understand what's good for them. Whites without college degrees, as reasonable if flawed an indicator of "class" in this country as exists, backed John McCain by 58 to 40 in 2008 and George W Bush in 2004 and 2000 by similar amounts. Failing to sense the liberation the Democrats have in store for them, they have been seized by a collective bout of false consciousness and are once again set to vote against their own interests. Having thus infantilised them as ostensible adults in need of protection against themselves, progressives will then wonder why this particular group of people do not flock to them at the polls.

PolitiFact Georgia | Is education level tied to voting tendencies?

Based on the 2008 exit polls of Georgia, Virginia (where Sabato works) and nationally, whites with a college degree supported Barack Obama at a higher rate than whites without a college degree, Kondik said.

With white, highly educated voters being a key demographic for the Democratic Party, political observers, such as conservative columnist Tim Carney of the Washington Examiner, are predicting Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney could carry several swing states if he can sway these voters to the GOP.

.... so... the base which the GOP relies on is by far the most uneducated in the country...

Try breaking it down by whether the college degrees are in areas that involve real world activities, such as business or engineering, or the sort of degrees proudly held by people who have EBT cards.

Somebody's moving the goal posts and asking for irrelevant information, what would that have to do with your erroneous claim that Democrats appeal to low IQ voters? Facts are facts, buddy. Low education voters go overwhelmingly for Republican. Whereas educated voters tend to vote Democrat. You got anything to add?

No, I'm not "moving the goal posts." I just think that it's important that we acknowledge that college degrees have little correlation to IQ's, far less to actual intelligence.

The point I made earlier, and which you failed to grasp, referred to IQ, not to college degrees.

Why take a test. His own party says he is a low IQ moron, and I am pretty cool with agreeing with his own supporters about his lacking intelligence. It is Bipartisan agreement.

I would agree that Hispanic Republicans appear to have a lower IQ. Is that what you mean?

I think that this individual is a perfect reflection of today's "in your face conservative"................Why he resigned escapes me...................

It really isn't Conservatism that get's in the weak-chinned face of the Left, it's Reality that does that sooner or later. Conservatism is fueled by the shattering of illusions.

There's lots of illusions plenty of Conservatives live in. I guess, by your logic, they too should be completely shattered........................

you really have to beware going there. there is intelligence and there is memorization. Most college degree work is memorization. Intelligent people do less memorization because they have a cognitive understanding of the world which is actual intelligence. A person who memorizes has little understanding of how the world works, and we need those people less and less because we have computers to do that job. At higher levels of college you get more intelligent people, but for anything masters and under you can pretty much get there with a complete lack of understanding and just knowing how to regurgitate the things you memorized.

It is just wrong with associating college degrees with intelligence since most people who get them really do not have intelligence. IQ, though flawed, at least attempts to test cognitive reasoning and understanding rather than pure memorization. IQ is often not used often to evaluate students for college.

It depends on what you are talking about. If you are talking about moderns republican faux news conservativism it is all about creating an illusion and then trying to pretend the rest of the world is a lie. If you are talking about some fiscal conservative ideas they have their place, but they often do not shatter illusions as much as deal with responsibilities. I guess if you have the illusion you can borrow forever and never pay then that might tell you otherwise, but that is not a part of modern rep/conservative views as they will borrow way over their eyeballs if it is for causes like wars, stomping on anything not christian, keeping people from having fun, and forcing our education system to adopt religious fantasy as science. Neo-cons have pissed a lot of resources away on those things, and they have gone well beyond their means to do so.

That is convenient since there is no polling data that is cross-referenced with IQ scores. But lets just take you at your word and compare 4 year degrees and post grad degrees.

In the 2008 Presidential election, the liberal won among 4 year degree graduates by 54 to 46, among folks with post-graduate degrees, Masters and higher, those whom you called "more intelligent", the liberal beat be conservative by 58 to 40. 58 to 40 is getting lose to the margin of the liberal vote margin among Hispanics.

It looks to me like the smarter people get, or at least the more educated people get, the less likely they are to vote conservative.

Fascinating.

So what were you saying?

Well you'll have plenty of fuel because conservatives tend to believe in an awful lot of illusions!

I believe he stated that ANYONE with a low IQ is a democrat;s wet dream.. Or something to that effect. :)

And now the smug gloss on the ugly meme.

Like clockwork.

This is why I'm so optimistic that the only conservatives that will be left in America in a decade or two will be holed up in compound somewhere in Idaho, oiling their guns and waiting fruitlessly for the zombie apocalypse, while the rest of us move on to a more prosperous future.

Like Detroit, NY CA? Pick a dem stronghold and I'll show you despair.

He said... absolutely nothing of the sort. Are you sure you quoted the correct post?

Yeah, he's criticizing an organization that took care of the problem. What's there to debate here, not a goddamn thing.

So a resignation isn't good enough for you? Maybe you'd like to have him killed? Would that work for you?

It does however, point to the GOP's general problem there. No matter what the official party line is, it's going to take time for the stragglers to get on board (or just die off). Like when the Democrats decided that they liked Civil Rights. Part of that was getting the votes, and it took a while for everybody to get on board or die.

I don't think that was HoJ's point, but occasionally he unintentionally says something.

We agree. I think the GOP is doomed demographically to become a regional party. I can't envision it every winning the presidency again. And I don't see how the Senate won't continue to slip away from GOP influence as statewide elections result in more moderate (i.e., Democratic) candidates which the GOP won't be able to beat except in the most virulently rightwing states (which are also receding.)

A regional party with 34 governorships?
