Hispanics don't vote as often as you think they do. If they did, Texas would not be a red state.

It won't be for long. But it's clear how the GOP keeps hold on power there: suppress the Latino vote.

Meanwhile, in other threads, Republicans gnash their teeth at the prospect of black people voting more often than white people do...

Texas' demographics would make it a blue state if the current trend continues. The electoral vote implications of this are so severe that the GOP has no choice except to attempt to change latino voting trends.

Texas flipping blue for the white house means the GOP has no route to elect a president. They have a couple decades to figure this out, but they do have to figure this out.

And the GOP wonders why it's totally lost the hispanic vote.
Interesting that when some member of the GOP or other non-left group says something people would consider stupid, it is news worthy, but when liberals or progressives do it, it is not considered news worthy by the press. Could this be because only things that are uncommon are considered news worthy?

Exactly. The GOP is on the brink of electoral extinction. Texas Republicans are literally panicking trying to figure out ways to disenfranchise Hispanic voters. It's what the GOP has become: a machine to try to prevent Americans from voting as the only way it can win elections.

Only you find it interesting. Start you own thread if you have something to say about progressives. This thread about conservative bad faith and racism.

No, it is about A person whom you call conservative having bad faith and being racist (apparently in yours and others opinions). To assume that all conservatives are such by the actions of one or a few would be attempting to create a stereo type and to foster hatred. Are you trying to stereo type conservatives by the actions of only one person?

According to Politifact The appeal maybe for an elephant among the less educated/intelligent folks out there.

2008 CNN poll has college graduates going for Obama over McCain by 8 points.

2012 Pew poll- white lower income and less educated folks have shifted to the GOP. No college degree is a 54% - 37% split in favor of the GOP.

Using Forbes magazine's list of the top 20 richest citizens 60% democrat, 75% if you go by richest families.

Only in the deep south does the GOP have a majority of whites no matter the educational level, though by a 1% margin among post graduates.

I have always read, 'once with a minimum of the facts' to mean just enough of a carefully cherry picked set of facts to carry an entire wave of bogus ones into a discussion.

It is a poor debate tactic to use broad sweeping opinions with no support like a poll, and then put the burden on the other side to prove you wrong.

If you use an entire spectrum of factors you find the democrats tend to do well with minorities, the young, women and the very poor, the very rich.

Perhaps the appeal isn't to the IQ but rather the realization the GOP has a very narrow agenda and that agenda has a very narrow set of criteria in the supporters.

Not owning property, not 'knowing a minimum' of the history and facts, not their IQ but rather what the GOP says when they think no one is taping vs what they say when they 'target' anyone but their staunches of supporters...
