Jimmy Carter Named Most Trusted U.S. Politician in New Poll.....

I'm not going through all those links. I asked a simple question. Is it because he's critical of Israeli policies, or because he understands when an oppressed people react violently? I want a quote stating that he hates or dislikes Jews. Something reputable and verifiable, would be nice.

I'm not here to do your homework for you.

I provided you with abundant material. Look it up.

If the Palestinians want to avoid being "oppressed," then they merely need to stop acting the part pf murderous savages. Myself, being of an old fashioned bent am disinclined to encourage anyone to negotiate with people who celebrate when infants and children are stabbed to death, or who launch missiles at schools. Top be honest, I think that such people really ought to be suppressed, especially in light of the fact that everytime someone foolishly does negotiate with them, they find that an incentive to greater, more imaginative forms of murder.

Not everyone takes up painting dogs and bath tub scenes after their public service. Some people engage in massively successful humanitarian causes, which make a real difference in the lives of millions. Such phonies!

Clearly, reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I said "consider the most trustworthy people who fake it for a living". My comment had nothing to do with Jimmy Carter and everything to do with the litany of actors whom Americans consider most trustworthy.

Further, your comments about President Bush simply compound your ignorance of the man and the work he does out of the spotlight. From your comments, one has to assume you were one of the 1,000 people polled in this survey.

I have always thought Jimmy Carter was a man of high morals and a good man all around but horrible president. His moral standing is more significant due to the fact he was the last president with any morals at all until Obama.

I agree that Jimmy Carter was a man of high morals, but you are delusional about Obama.

Wasn't that everybody on the list? Actors and politicians...

Problem is, who are you going to get that enough people have heard of? I trust my Dad, but for most people he'd elicit a "who's that."

That's fair enough. I do remember a time when journalists and news anchors, like Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow were the most trusted people. Shows how far that profession has fallen.

Your attempt to bog me down with a mountain of biased sources won't work. A single quote should be sufficient.

Being critical of Israel is not anti-Semitism. You can be opposed to it and/or its policies for a variety of reasons. Allegations of anti-Semitism are simply a coward's way of silencing critical thought.

th

Cmon now CJ......U mean to tell me you couldn't Trust a face Like that? :2razz:

As I said to Amadeus, I was referring to the actors, those paid to fake it for a living.

Carter was a horrible pres and an even worse X pres. He has no class at all and proved that with his constant sniping at rep presidents.

To be fair, Carter is an equal opportunity sniper - he's so all knowing that he criticizes Republican and Democrat Presidents who've succeeded him. The man is so bitter with his disasterously failed Presidency that he can't help himself - he has to try to bring down to his level everyone else who holds the office.

Carter was not perfect, but he was the most honorable man to hold the Office in my lifetime. And I didn't even vote for him.

Then you need to read.

Yea, Amadeus needs a lot of this......

The very fact that Americans consider people who fake it for a living to be the most trustworthy is a pretty sad commentary on the intellectual capacity and connection to reality that the average American in 2013 seems to have.

What an embarrassment.

Good morning, CJ. :2wave:

:agree: I've read that when polls were taken, many of those polled did not even know who the Vice President is! Yet those same people could tell you what the Kardashians are doing, and what they were wearing yesterday!

Is it that politics are not only confusing, but boring to them? Are their lives so upside down that reality is what they see in the movies and on game shows? Talk about "dumbing down" the people! It's working! No wonder this Country is going downhill. Do we have a POTUS who thinks he's in Hollywood, rather than DC? The uninformed seem to believe that, and have accepted the old saying, "Don't worry, be happy." Talk about sheeple! What will happen when reality comes crashing in on them, as it soon must? :scared: Wow!

Some people accuse Jews who are critical of Israeli policies as being anti-Semitic. Israel is a place, not an ethnicity.

Criticizing the actions of Netanyahu =/= hates jews.

He goes FAR beyond that. His entire book is one long polemic aimed at creating sympathy for Arabs, which is certainly understandable considering Arabs give him so much money to represent their point of view.

While he may not cross the line into the sort of naked antisemitism we see in these forums so continually, neither is he at all fair. He is extremely biased on the issue.

Perhaps the extreme bias and intellectual dishonesty on the Israeli side causes him to overcompensate. I can't peer into his psychology.

Taking a biased view on a political issue doesn't mean the same thing as anti-semite. Does it make Republicans racist when they take a biased view that is against Obama? No. Nor does it mean that Carter hates jews.

I didn't say it did.

He is biased because he is satisfying the needs of those who have provided him so much money over the years. If you think that is an honorable thing worthy of trust, that is your business. Im my world, it isn't.

Yeah, Carter is all about the money.

You had my agreement until the statement that Obama has any morals. Sexual adventures are not the only indicators of morals.

For that matter, I think that both Carter and Bush were men of high character and morals. Both were dumb as a box of rocks.

I should not have thrown the Obama thing in there, I did not intend to derail a good thread.

I read a couple of them. Opinions all, and the quotes mostly were criticism of the Israeli government. Criticizing the actions of Netanyahu =/= hates jews.

Great - hate mongering at it's finest.

Folks just all need to hate somebody these days....

Regardless of what you think of him as a president, he embodies some of the best qualities of humanity. Of course, you need to take off your rancid partisan hat to see it.

I do think overall he was sincere and of good motives. However, he was extremely naive and thus a very weak and ineffectual president.

I would tend to believe/trust fact statements he made, but never his analysis of what to do or not do.
