Cumulus: Nearly All Top Advertisers Have 'Exclude Rush Limbaugh' Orders

Your idea of right-wing is if every single progressive action that has ever occurred was repealed in its entirety since the inception of the U.S. This is the kind of black and white, extremist, far-right thinking that has gotten us into so much trouble recently. You see this as "normal".

Look at what has happened in the last 30-40 years. Unions have largely been broken, they wield substantially less power than they ever have. Corporate interests have soared, CEO, executive pay have soared to unprecedented levels while worker pay has been stagnant since about 1980. Corporations / business interests have almost complete control of congress. The financial industries have been largely deregulated with disastrous consequences yet right-wing propaganda is still pushing harder and harder for even more deregulation and anyone who disagrees is a communist / socialist. Wealth inequality is extremely high, the middle class is continuously shrinking and becoming weaker and weaker.

Are you blind to this?

Unions are simply legalized extortion. I detest them.

Again, we must move beyond fantasy. I look abut me and see little of this "disastrous consequence" that you imagine that I would not primarily ascribe to the consequences of excessive government. The "Stimulus" scam, the interference of the government in the housing market, the interference in wages, and now, the "health care" debacle in which a foolish people imagines that a collection of lawyers can constructively take effective control of the medical industry, about which they possess little to no expertise.

I will repeat something I've said before. To be a Modern Leftist in America is to live in a dream world. It is a set of poor mental habits unsuitable for actualized adults.

Reality beckons to you. She is a harsh, but ultimately inescapable mistress. Submit to her. You will in the end anyway.

Your manner of trying to sound fancy and intelligent while mixing in insults is truly charming, however I'll have to disagree with your conclusions.

Anyone has a right, as long as he/she can make the radio show work, and be self-supporting. Just as you have the right to spew whatever you think, by any legal means at your disposal, so does Limbaugh. You may not agree with him, but that's what the 1st is all about.

Literally nobody is suggesting that limbaugh doesn't have a right to do what he does. So have fun with your straw man.

Dick Morris doesn't like Rush Limbaugh, but for a different reason... elections. See the video of Morris at the link:

Dick Morris To Rush Limbaugh: "Stop Losing The Elections For Us"

Morris is right. Limbaugh is part of the Golem that is the rightwing noise machine. It can't be turned off. It can only become more and more shrill, more and more extremists, grinding up any semblance of sanity in the GOP (is there any left).

That's why I actually love Limbaugh: he and Hannity and the rest of the freaks that stir up the tea party minions insure that the GOP will be an electoral irrelevancy even sooner than expected.

She testified before Congress she was having so much sex it was making her go broke, therefore she needed taxpayers to subsidize her birth control

Fluke = slut

Oh my God it's one of those people who actually thinks:
1) That Sandra Fluke was saying anything of the sort
2) That birth control pills need to be taken based on how often you have sex.

Seriously, I thought you guys were just a parody. Something that didn't actually exist. A joke that Stewart and Colbert came up with. :lamo

Jesus Christ, they exist. :lamo

Are you comparing my anti propaganda thread with the cold war? My my I am a powerful man today.

No, I'm comparing your view on propaganda that doesn't fit your bias with the HUAC's view on Hollywood. It's a perfect match.

You didn't think she was a slut but you'll call her one. Ok chief.
I dont know if she is a slut or not. I do know that is precisely the term used that started the controversy. She WAS however a liar. She talked about how unfair it was that the Church was trying to control her ***** and deprive her of oral contraceptives just like her imaginary friend was denied oral contraceptives...except of course...she WASNT denied oral contraceptives, they were part of her provided student insurance coverage and she admitted to it. the whole thing was a contrived scam fake testimony in front of a bunch of democrats trying to further their imaginary cause of the 'war on women'.

The demographics are the problem -- all his listeners live in trailer parks, or will live there. Their major brand loyalty is to Oxycontin. That limits advertizers a bit.

I listen to him and live in a $600k condo, thank you very much.

If people recognized it only as entertainment it wouldn't be a problem, unfortunately many think it is reality.

Unfortunetly you are right. Sad but true.

No, I'm comparing your view on propaganda that doesn't fit your bias with the HUAC's view on Hollywood. It's a perfect match.

What is this, I don't even?

Do you have an actual argument you wish to make or are you just going to make some silly association and walk away? You've made a claim twice with no substance.

You don't have a constitutional right to advertising dollars, but I see you've retreated from the previous "free speech" argument.

If you don't buy something from MSNBCs advertisers, are you trying to silence MSNBC?

Hell, some of these companies advertise on all sorts of programs. I guess this means I'm trying to silence everyone at one! :lamo
I never said anyone had a constitutional right to advertisement dollars. You want to boycott, go for it. Just don't pretend that you're all about free speech at the same time. The argument was basically that a bunch of people who preach all day about the importance of tolerance, diversity and freedom of speech, look pretty stupid when they turn around and proclaim: "Rush has to go!! Let's boycott his advertisers and get him off the air!!"

And for the record, I really don't think that there is anything wrong with voicing your opinion with your wallet, either. Free speech can be a real son-of-a-bitch sometimes, I will admit.

Hmm...3 days ago Benghazi gains momentum. 3 days ago Rush Limbaugh gets attacked over "ad revenue". Ya, that's a coincidence.

BTW, ad revenue always falls after an election as listeners fall. Here's the direct listener numbers: Rushlimbaugh.com Traffic and Demographic Statistics by Quantcast They fell after the 08 election and stabalized only slightly higher than they did after this election. If WABC/Cumulous isn't happy, they can find someone else with the same revenue draw.

I listen to him and live in a $600k condo, thank you very much.

I love online testimonials on political forum sites. By the way, I'm a Navy Seal, and a millionaire.

Pssst: demographics involve more than just you.

Without insurance coverage, contraception can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school For a lot of students who, like me, are on public interest scholarships that’s practically an entire summer’s salary

Forty percent of female students at Georgetown Law report struggling financially as a result of this policy (40%?!?!)
.
One told us of how embarrassed and powerless she felt when she was standing at the pharmacy counter, learning for the first time that contraception wasn’t covered, and had to walk away because she couldn’t afford it.Women like her have no choice but to go without contraception.

:lol::lol:

It is not the responsibility of taxpayers to fund Sandra Fluke's birth control. The slut can pay for her own.

So much for the concept of free speech.

Losing advertisers doesn't mean he is no longer free to make his opinions known.

A modern talk web radio show can be run for very little money.

Furthermore, it is the advertisers' right to decide who they want to fund and who they do not want to fund. As they clearly feel they do not want their products associated with Rush, that is the free hand of the market operating.

No, it is a normal political ploy. When there's a hot news topic that harms you, try to manufacture an opposing topic to deflect attention.

Looks like Obama is outwitting the dullards on the right again.

Which as I understand it Rush does daily, your point? You want him muzzled? Good liberal.

As for the OP, a bunch of steaming BS. His show, again as I understand it, is still very popular and his numbers are high. He's not sucking for advertisers, and those who boycott him this way are either using it to satisfy their own meager customer base or trying to change their image with the public.

And despite all the talk, liberal themed radio is still sucking dust.

I explained how this isn't really relevant 5 months before Glenn Beck was taken off the air.

 He's doubling down. Trying to support his statement.

She wasn't talking about condoms, dude. :lamo Oh god you really don't know anything about this do you?

Are you even aware that birth control pills have medical uses other than contraception? Seeing as how you think she was talking about condoms, I suspect not. I guess that makes more sense than you thinking someone has to take more birth control pills when they have sex more.
